The Amanikan boat is 105ft long with three vaulted air conditioned bedroom suites; all are on the main deck, so no portholes here. Custom made teak furnishings, rattan weave walls, and a soothing palette of taupe, honey and white provide the setting.

The master cabin with king size bed offers sweeping 270 degree views and a large private sun deck. The second cabin with queen size bed also boasts incredible views and again has its own balcony, whilst the smaller third bedroom which can be made up as either two singles or as a queen has a semi private sun deck. All cabins have a luxurious ensuite, with double vanity.

It goes without saying that everything else you would expect is on board: outdoor galley, outdoor BBQ for your catch of the day, al fresco dining, and a spacious lounge area at the bow, for sunbathing, pre and post-dinner drinks, or even a night spent under the stars. The Amanikan also offers an experienced scuba dive master on board, and equipment for up to six guests to explore under the waves.

The Amanikan Komodo Expedition runs from March to October. During these months, combine an exploration of the dragon-infested islands of Komodo with a stay at the wonderful tented camp of Amanwana on Moyo Island for a true wilderness experience. From November to February, Amanikan heads east - far east - to the stunning jungle clad cluster of islands known as Raja Ampat for world class snorkel and dive opportunities.

Why we love it

The Amanikan offers the chance to get really off the beaten track in Indonesia, exploring remote islands and deserted beaches, without compromising on comfort.

Tiger Blue

Tiger Blue liveaboard is an immaculate and newly built 100ft traditional phinisi sailing boat, and as a new build, she is one of the faster boats under power, an important consideration when you visit destinations like Raja Ampat where the distances from north to south are not inconsiderable. As well as Raja Ampat,Tiger Blue operates in the Banda Islands and Komodo/Flores and is available for both private charter and set-date departures throughout the year.

The fad for phinisi liveaboard boats in the waters off Indonesia’s islands shows no signs of running out of steam (or sail), and the arrival of the Alexa only ups the ante higher.

Amandira fuses the Sanskrit words for ‘peace’ and ‘intrepid’, and this is exactly what she offers guests – the chance to become an intrepid explorer, visiting some of the Indonesian archipelago’s most remote islands, without foregoing the comfort of a luxury hotel.
