Deciding where to begin is the most challenging part of Spain road trips; once you’ve taken to the open road, the opportunities for exploration are endless. Start in the south, in sun-soaked Seville, a city which seduces with its heady mix of baroque architecture, authentic flamenco clubs and aristocratic mansions. Park up and explore the city on foot with a tapas and flamenco tour, arguably the most ideal introduction to Spanish culture. A local culinary guide can introduce you to some hidden tapas spots, where you can sample crispy chipirones (baby squid), rich sobrassada sausage and wine-soaked chorizo, washed down with a glass or two of fruity sangria. Hit the road again to explore the stunning Andalusian countryside; hike through the Sierra de Grazalema mountains or take a day trip to Donana National Park.
