Practical advice and inspiration to help you prepare for your holiday
If you're a serious food lover, make a beeline for one of the continent's culture-filled capitals where you'll find some of the world's top culinary hotspots. Paris, the birthplace of haute cuisine, has a whopping 106 Michelin Starred restaurants which are guaranteed to get your taste buds tingling. Barcelona and Rome are great picks too, with a generous sprinkling of award-winning tables to try out that will serve up world-class international cuisine as well as regional specialties.
For a more rustic palette, you can't go wrong with the home of pizza, pasta and ice cream - Italy. Take a train to Naples (where pizza was invented) and meet up with our local guide for a foodie tour through the city's narrow streets, being sure to sample to excellent seafood, too; or make Rome, Verona or Florence your base and discover the many traditional trattoria restaurants dotted around the handsome historic centre and in hidden side streets full of charm and friendly locals. If you're keen to take some of the gastronomic magic home with you, then we can even set up a cooking class with a local where you can learn the secrets of making your own pasta and even bake and fill your own sweet cannolis, then impress everyone with your kitchen prowess when you get home.
Elsewhere in Europe, there's the coastal Spanish city of San Sebastian where you can indulge in delicious tapas-like dishes in the many charming pintxos bars; the fresh food markets of Umbria and the seriously indulgent sweet treats in Copenhagen (home to the world-famous Noma restaurant).
Wherever you end up, we'll pair you up with excellent guides, fill your trip with memorable experiences and arrange for you to stay in the top hotel hideaways (for those much-needed afternoon siestas after eating yourself silly).
