Flights to Split take just over two hours and 30 minutes, giving you plenty of time to delve into your holiday read and settle into a slower rhythm.
When you arrive, meet your private driver, who’ll whisk you away into the heart of the city, where you’ll spend the next two nights. Then, after a spot of unpacking, head out this evening for a stroll along the waterfront and a bite (by which we mean a feast) to eat.

While you wander through, grab a basket and let your cravings lead the way as you gather ingredients for lunch. Not a chef? Don’t worry: after the market, you’ll head to a nearby restaurant, where a local chef will throw together a delicious lunch just for you.
This afternoon, walk off your meal with a visit to Diocletian’s Palace, built by the eponymous emperor in the fourth century when Split was under Roman rule. Somewhat deceptively named, the palace actually encompasses the entire historic heart of Split, housing roughly 3,000 locals. Game of Thrones fans are also bound to feel a pang of nostalgia here, since the citadel served as a primary filming location for the series. Let the imitation photoshoots commence...
Order up a pile of palancinke (ultra-thin, Balkan-style crepes) this morning, then grab your bags, meet your private driver and set off on the three-hour journey to Dubrovnik. Road trip tunes – embellished by our destination-specific playlist – at the ready.
Along the way, pepper the route with stops at the fabulously photogenic Neretva Delta, the stunning seaside town of Makarska (ideal for a leisurely lunch) and the beautiful Biokovola Nature Park.
When you pull into Dubrovnik this afternoon, check in for two nights in another central hotel. Then, having settled in and freshened up, venture out into the streets in search of dinner. Spoilt for choice? Simply ask your Concierge to point you in the right – and most delicious – direction.
Another day, another UNESCO-listed city. Head out this morning to explore Dubrovnik’s fortified old town (once known as Ragusa), which is full of cobbled streets, ornate palaces and majestic monasteries.
Accompanied by a friendly local guide, embark on a journey through time – well, architecture – from the Romanesque and Gothic periods to the High Renaissance and Baroque. Start at the Franciscan Monastery, a 14th-century gem which houses a famous pharmacy, before heading to the Dubrovnik Synagogue, the oldest Sephardic synagogue in operation.
Afterwards, visit the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin, regarded as one of the most beautiful expressions of Roman Baroque art in the eastern Adriatic – though it’s not winning any accolades for catchy names.
Revive your energy this afternoon with a coffee (or cocktail) break followed by some downtime in your room before dinner, sure to be another terrifically tasty affair.
A bittersweet day has arrived: it’s your last morning on the delightful Dalmatian Coast. Scout a seriously scenic spot for a leisurely breakfast this morning before meeting your private driver to transfer to the airport.
