Your five-day trip begins with a tour of Tangier alongside a local, where you’ll learn about the city’s rich history from someone who knows their stuff. Route

Everything is 100% tailored to you
DAY 1

Touchdown in Tangier

Your Big Short Break to Tangier kicks off today, so arm yourself with a Morocco-themed book from our recommended reading list and head to the airport for your four-hour flight to Europe’s gateway to Africa. After landing, a driver will be waiting to transfer you to your Moroccan-style hotel.

Despite being just eight miles from Europe, across the Strait of Gibraltar, arriving in Tangier is like stepping into a new world. So, spend the rest of the day getting to grips with the colourful markets and twisting streets of the medina (old town), strolling along the bay of Tangier or sampling some of Morocco’s finest cuisine.

DAY 2

Tangier like a local

Is there anyone who knows a city better than its locals? We think not. So today, you’ll experience Tangier like the people who live here. A local resident will take you on a city tour, sharing their stories and secrets along the way. Uncover the rich tapestry of history woven into this city, from the Kasbah to the Great Mosque, as well as museums and less travelled locations.

In addition, we can also arrange for you to enjoy a private picnic at Achakar Beach, where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean. Spread your towel over the golden sands and unwind by the water, all while indulging in delicious foods and refreshing cocktails.

DAY 3

Escape to Asilah

Sitting south of Morocco is Asilah, a quaint coastal town enclosed by 15th-century ramparts and gates. A private driver will be at your disposal today to explore this peaceful spot, so fill your boots (or sandals) with a hearty Moroccan breakfast before jumping in the car. Meander around the medina, shop for souvenirs at the souqs, scale the city walls and feast on freshly caught fish at a beach-front restaurant. When evening rolls around, head back to Tangier where your local Concierge can recommend the best spots to unwind after a busy day of exploring.

DAY 4

Explore the 'Blue City'

Another day, another medina – you’re off to Chefchaouen, a quick two-hour drive southwest of Tangier. As you approach, the wash of blue buildings will be hard to miss, and you’ll dive straight into them alongside a knowledgeable guide. The medina is the heart and soul of the city, with a wonderful array of artisan boutiques to check out along the winding alleys, so make sure you’ve left room in your bag for souvenirs to bring home – we’re talking traditional Moroccan textiles, pottery and jewellery. You’ll also have the chance to enter the 15th-century Kasbah, home to a small museum showcasing the region's history and culture.

After conquering Chefchaouen, head back to Tangier and catch one final golden sunset as your Big Short Break winds to an end.

DAY 5

Farewell Morocco

As your Moroccan adventure draws to a close, bid farewell to Tangier as you're whisked away to the airport by private transfer. Settle into your seat for the four-hour flight, where you'll have ample opportunity to ponder over which medina stole your heart the most... and which you’ll be returning to first.
