Marrakech is just a hop, skip and a jump from the UK, and yet it still feels worlds away – making it the ideal destination for a romantic weekend. Swap grey skies, gloomy walks and the same old television series for ochre walls, desert dinners and fresh mint tea on this three-day Moroccan mini break.

Start the trip in a beautiful riad in Marrakech’s medina. Set just a stone’s throw away from the hustle and bustle, the outside world instantly fades away once you cross the threshold, meaning you can experience the best of both worlds.

From enjoying a rejuvenating hammam and massage to exploring the maze-like medina, you’ll quickly become acquainted with the Berber way of life. You’ll also travel to the vast expanse of the Agafay Desert, where you’ll be treated to a traditional feast under the stars.

There’s plenty of time to explore the rest of Marrakech too, whether you’ve kept a suitcase spare to fill with artisanal leathers or want to soak up the city’s spectacular sights. One thing’s for sure: you’ll return to the UK rested, rejuvenated and ready to experience more of Morocco…

Itinerary

100% customisable for you

It’s time to go. Head to the airport, grab a coffee (or champagne – it’s your romantic weekend, after all) and a bite to eat in the lounge before boarding your four-hour flight to Marrakech. After you touchdown, one of our friendly representatives will whisk you through security and accompany you to your private transfer for the short 20-minute drive to your hotel.

Hidden behind an old carved door, your luxurious riad is a sensory paradise, soundtracked by birdsong and a trickling fountain and scented with orange blossoms and fresh pastries. On arrival, check in and head up to your room, where you’ll be welcomed by rose petals and candles.

Spend the rest of the day settling in. Fancy a little R&R to kick off the weekend? Enjoy a rejuvenating hammam, where you’ll be scrubbed, soothed and rinsed using traditional Arabic techniques. Come evening, our Concierge can recommend our favourite spots for a romantic rooftop dinner.

After a leisurely breakfast, it’s time to get acquainted with the sights and sounds of Marrakech’s medina. Wind your way through brightly-coloured narrow alleyways lined with traditional textiles, spot market stalls piled high with fragrant spices and watch everything from acrobatics to snake charmers in Djemaa el-Fna square. We recommend exploring the medina on a sidecar tour with a private guide, who’ll regale you with fascinating facts about the city’s Berber history.

Later on, swap city for stone dunes in the Agafay Desert. Cameras at the ready: as you’re privately transferred one hour out of the city, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the snow-capped peaks of the Atlas Mountains. Once you’ve marvelled at the sheer expanse of the rocky plains, you’ll be treated to a traditional three-course meal under a blanket of stars – does it get any more romantic than this?

It’s time to wave goodbye to Morocco today, but don’t worry: we’ve left you a final few hours free to spend at your leisure. After one last desert breakfast this morning, you’ll be privately transferred one hour back to the city, where shopaholics can fill their boots at the souqs, and culture vultures can explore Marrakech’s architecture and museums (Bahia Palace, Jardin Majorelle and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum are not to be missed). If you’d prefer to hang out at the riad, the rooftop pool and one final Moroccan feast are waiting for you.

When the time comes, you’ll be privately transferred back to the airport for your flight home. One more toast to the trip? We think so.
