Throughout Your Trip

Cape Town – Live it, Love it

It's one of the few great destinations that ticks all the boxes for those looking for the ocean,
an inspired lifestyle, a taste for the exotic, as well as a safe city that is a good place to live. Cape Town is really laidback: by day, it's more beach picnic hamper than briefcase and by night it's a party town. Be captivated by the aroma of spices wafting over the exotic market on Greenmarket Square, shop chic European style in the latest boutiques and take in the California Dreamin' vibe along the city's beaches, watching the surfers as they take on the breaking waves. Meanwhile, the city's townships and the buzz from its jazz clubs act as reminders that you're still very much on African soil.

Mauritius - Luxury, peace, beauty and white sand

For this break by the ocean, we have selected a hotel next to the lagoon, renowned for its excellent level of comfort and Mauritian hospitality. Located on the southern side of the island, this hotel offers stunning scenery, surrounded by one of the best beaches on the island's south side. Catering for those looking for a spacious place to stay, it offers a range of roomy suites and villas in a contemporary design of clean lines favouring the saffron colours of India alongside white cotton bed linen. On site, there is a whole range of water-based activities, including sailing, waterskiing and kayaking, and the largest spa in the Indian Ocean for a spot of relaxing couple time.

Route

Everything is 100% tailored to you
DAY 1

International flight to Cape Town

Arrival at Cape Town Airport, personal welcome and assistance with customs formalities. Transfer to your hotel for the next three nights. A stone's throw from the ocean with views overlooking the sea, your hotel is located in Bantry Bay, away from the city's hustle and bustle. The interior's clean lines and fresh colours create a welcoming and soothing atmosphere, while the pool and terrace positively encourage unbridled laziness.
In Cape Town, we love - Walking among the colourful houses in Bo-Kaap - discovering the local food market at Hout Bay - getting up close and personal with the seals on Duiker Island - hiking between the ocean and mountain on the Table Mountain's trails - Sunday concerts at Kirstenbosch Gardens (from December to April) - enjoying a drink on the terrace at the V&A Waterfont - finding something to buy at Africa Nova - tasting a traditional 'bubotie' in the Malaysian neighbourhood...

DAY 2

Cape Town

In the itinerary - A relaxed walk through Cape Town with an expert guide to see the city through a local's eyes. Take an impromptu walk through the city and get the chance to share a slice of local life, discuss everyday living in South Africa and gather a wealth of tips for the rest of your trip. Nothing is planned in advance on this informal tour, where the route is designed around you and your interests.

DAY 3

Cape Town

In the itinerary - Wine tasting at a vineyard. Set at the foot of the majestic Drakenstein Valley mountains, this historic Cape Dutch-style farm is run by the former editor of Elle Decoration South Africa. The estate covers over seven acres and features vineyards and a vegetable garden. After an introduction to the estate, the tour begins with the vats and cellars, before moving on to a tasting of five of the house wines.

DAYS 4 to 6

Cape Town - Hoedspruit - Thornybush Private Reserve

Private airport transfer, flight to Hoedspruit in the north-east of the country. 45-minute transfer to the Thornybush Private Reserve. Your camp is located in the heart of the bush, and offers total immersion into the animal world. Known for its warm welcome and friendly, romantic atmosphere, this will be your home for the next three nights, with all safari activities included.

DAY 7

Thornybush Private Reserve - Hoedspruit - Johannesburg

Private transfer to Hoedspruit Airport and flight to Johannesburg. Overnight stay at Satyagraha House, where Gandhi lived between 1908 and 1911. Today, this heritage-listed house encompasses a museum and unique guesthouse in the suburb of Orchards, a middle-class residential area close to Johannesburg's main attractions. In Gandhi's time, it was in the bush about six miles from the emerging city of Johannesburg, facing the gold mines to the south of the present-day city. A stay at Satyagraha House is more than just a hotel stay, or a stop along the way; it's an encounter with history, and offers an insight into an evolving country that's learnt from its past struggles.

DAY 8

Johannesburg - Mauritius - St. Felix

Direct flight to Mauritius, where you will be assisted with airport formalities, before travelling onto St. Felix and your accommodation for the next five nights. Dedicated to the harmony of body and soul through Ayurvedic principles, where alchemy sits somewhere between contemporary lifestyles and age-old Indian philosophies, your Mauritian accommodation features Balinese and African-inspired architecture with pointed wooden or thatched roofs. The suites are beautiful (particularly the bathrooms), while the villas are immense and come with their own pool. For those without a private pool, the communal pool made from the black volcanic rock is equally delightful. Food-wise, your taste buds are in for a treat, from the hotel's gourmet restaurant to its rum bar with 180 different drinks on offer, and the Robinson-style restaurant where you can enjoy grilled seafood with your feet in the sand. The beach itself is beautifully arced and lined with pine trees, and the village of Bel Ombre lies just behind it. The ultimate must-do at this hotel is undoubtedly its spa, which rivals the Indian Ocean in size (only a slight exaggeration). At over one and a half acres and surrounded by tropical gardens, the spa features a saltwater swimming pool, beauty salon, tea room, Pilates and yoga studio (sessions are free) and no less than 25 treatment rooms, combining traditional Ayurvedic methods and yoga with the latest techniques, such as hydrotherapy, massage, body scrubs, fusion massage and Watsu.

DAYS 9 to 12

St. Felix

Optional - Enjoy an intimate dinner under the stars overlooking the ocean, with a private waiter and chef.
Optional - A day exploring the island's wildlife and wilderness with a private driver. Head west to the Chamarel region to see the unique and colourful phenomenon of the Seven Coloured Earths. Nearby is the Chamarel waterfall, plunging down 330ft in a lush green setting. Afterwards, stop off at Curious Corner for some unique sensory experiences. Casela World of Adventures is home to hundreds of animal species, from multicoloured birds to giant turtles.

DAYS 13 & 14

St. Felix - Mauritius - Return flight

Fly back overnight and arrive the next day.

A la carte

Your Lodge in Kruger Park

Choose to stay in a fabulous lodge on a private plot in Kruger National Park. The camp is located on the Timbavati River, with tents built on wooden platforms. Perfectly arranged and furnished, they feature spacious bathrooms open to the great outdoors with gauze screens to ensure complete privacy. Although you'll have a private terrace, the common areas are equally comfortable and include a large wooden observation platform in front of the dining area and bar, perfect to relax and survey your surroundings. There's also a pool to unwind in between safaris. These usually happen in the morning and late afternoon when the animals are most active, and are accompanied by the park's incredibly knowledgeable rangers.

Optional

Flora and Fauna from Chamarel to Casela World of Adventures

In the south-west of the island, the Chamarel region features some of Mauritius' main natural attractions: after a visit to the famous Seven Coloured Earths, probably the most unique colour phenomenon in the world, discover the stunning 330ft-high Chamarel waterfall nearby, set in lush landscape. Next up is the village of Chamarel, featuring Curious Corner, a stunning exhibition venue with some fascinating sensory experiences. Then enjoy lunch at the famous Casela Park, before exploring the park itself and its many attractions. Home to thousands of birds, lions, zebras, giant turtles, long-tailed macaques and many other animals, it's the largest amusement park in Mauritius and a must-see attraction that's constantly evolving. It features 615 acres of extended tropical gardens with forests, gorges and an African reserve where you can indulge in a whole host of activities to suit every age and interest. Brave visitors can even walk with free-roaming lions, push their limits on the zipwire or experience an adrenaline rush on a quad bike.

Optional

Romantic Dinner on the Beach at your Hotel

Enjoy dinner overlooking the ocean: a unique culinary experience to savour under a blanket of stars with a bonfire nearby. The evening includes a dinner with starters, salads, barbecue, pudding and drinks, with a private waiter and chef.

Optional
