Ca Maria Adele
The hotel looks onto a narrow canal, where guests can arrive by water taxi, and is next to the beautiful church of Santa Maria della Salute.
Each room is individually decorated, ranging from calm, neutral tones to the opulent red, gold and chocolate colours of the five themed rooms. Bathrooms come with large Jacuzzi-baths. The stylish breakfast room, with its Murano glass chandelier, doubles as a bar in the evenings, and there is a rug-strewn terrace with fine views. On the ground floor is a cosy sitting room. Belmond Hotel Cipriani
In a city where space is a luxury, the Belmond Hotel Cipriani has no rivals. It is located in historic buildings surrounded by gardens at the tip of Giudecca Island, and enjoys wonderful views across the water to St. Mark's Square.

Bauer Il Palazzo
Just a two minute walk from St Mark's Square and located slap bang on the canal, Bauer il Palazzo's position is fantastic.
The 74 rooms are adorned with gilt mirrors, carved stucco ceilings and elaborately patterned silk wallpapers, all in keeping with the 18th century splendour of the Palazzo. Most rooms have a balcony overlooking the canal below and all have large, luxurious Italian marble bathrooms.
Guests can enjoy an impressive view of the city while having breakfast at Settimo Cielo, literally translating as seventh floor, whilst the restaurant De Pisis offers Mediterranean specialities with an Asian twist and has an outdoor terrace on the Grand Canal. Bauer Palladio
A beautiful 16th century Palladian palace on the island of Giudecca, Bauer Palladio is just a quick hop across the Grand Canal to St Mark's square.
Rooms are split between the historic main building, dating back to the 16th century, and the more modern conventino set in the gardens. As befitted by their surroundings, rooms in the original building are adorned with tapestries and decorated with intricate Venetian detail, while the rooms and suites in the conventino are more contemporary and colonial in style.
The hotel's restaurant, L'Ulivo, serves light, fresh meals using local fruit and vegetables, seafood and regional wines, The outdoor terrace is a great place to unwind after a day of sightseeing, and overlooks the hotel's beautiful gardens.
