The latest addition to Izmir, the Istanbul elite’s go-to place on the Aegean Sea, Nars Alaçati is a boutique hotel with bags of charm.

Harriet, Kate L and Molly are here to help give you the inside track.

There are just seven bedrooms at this boutique hotel in the centre of Alaçati village in Izmir, and housed in two 19th Century mansions, no two rooms are the same. Large four poster beds, exposed brick walls, wooden beams and ottoman inspired furniture are the norm, finished off with vintage rugs from Marrakech and Turkish antiques. Bathroom toiletries are made with oil from the owner's family's olive trees.

The central courtyard is the hub of the hotel, where guests can relax with a cocktail and flatbread from the wood-fired oven. For a massage or a dip, guests can use the facilities at the hotel's sister property, Nars Ilica, which is right by the Aegean Sea.
