Or consider heading to the iconic Ngorongoro Crater - a vast natural zoo - or the less well-trodden national parks of the Selous or Ruaha for 'rawer' safari. Heading west, teenagers would be strong enough to trek to see habituated chimps in Mahale, or climb Kilimanjaro, and over 16s can also enjoy the thrill of a walking safari followed by a night fly camping in the bush with just a mozzie net for cover.
