Bursting up from the lush undergrowth and spilling out into a pristine urban expanse is Singapore, a city filled to the brim with historic monuments, glistening skyscrapers and ample opportunities for ariel adventure. Over 100 metropolitan giants populate the Downton Core, many of which offer dizzying recreational experiences on their uppermost levels. But, with so much competition at the top, it can be hard to tell which spots are truly worth the climb. So, we’ve stepped in to lay the groundwork, allowing you to ditch the street-level crowds, rest your craned neck and prepare to ascend to the ten best rooftop bars in Singapore...
The Icon
Holding a coveted spot on our other list of the best hotel bars in the world, Lantern, at the Fullerton Bay Hotel, has been serving up a plethora of crafty takes on the infamous Singapore Sling (and many other boozy concoctions) since 2010. Thanks to its prime location along the Marina Bay waterfront, its status as one of the lowest altitude rooftop bars in the city does little to impair its gleaming reputation – or hinder its spectacular views. For a classic vista in an iconic setting, it’s the obvious choice.

The Big Shot
Even if you’ve never been to Singapore, you’ve likely heard of the Marina Bay Sands, a trifecta of glassy towers linked at the top by a striking boat-like structure. Accredited with such notoriety, it’s no wonder the rooftop bar housed here is one of the most popular destinations in the whole city. This stylish locale pairs 360° views of the Marina Bay area with an extensive signature cocktail list and a contemporary Asian menu. Add to this its feature in the 2018 box office giant, Crazy Rich Asians, and it’s easy to see why CE LA VI is on the tip of everyone’s tongue.
The Record Winner
Rise to the top like the bubbles in a crisp lager at LeVeL33, now recognised by Guinness World Records as the World’s Highest Microbrewery. This trailblazer is located on the 33rd floor of the Marina Bay Financial Centre and is equipped with a wraparound balcony providing 180° views of the surrounding area. Its vast selection of beers (all brewed on site using tanks transported by a specially fitted crane) is sure to get your mouth watering. Feeling spoilt for choice? Broaden your scope with a crowd favourite – the Beer Tasting Paddle.

The Cloud Grazer
Perched atop the triangular roof of the One Raffles Place Skyscraper, this neon apex pierces through the urban canopy as the tallest rooftop bar in all of Singapore. A festival in the sky, it invites guests to sample an array of vibrant cocktails while immersing themselves in the pulsing beats of its sonic environment. For panoramic views and dizzying elevation, NOVA is the clear frontrunner.
The Islander
Those in search of an ariel escape may overlook (pun intended) the greener plateaus of Singapore’s Sentosa Island. But when you’re basking under the sun on the deck of 1-Altitude Coast, the alfresco rooftop bar atop The Outpost Hotel, it certainly does feel like you’ve reached a summit. With stellar views of the Singapore Straits and an enticing infinity pool, rest assured you won’t be dismayed by its lesser height.
The Gen Beta
Born in 2025 and named after the ancient holiday resort frequented by the Roman aristocracy, this Mediterranean-style bar covers an expansive 5,000 sq ft. Baia takes pride of place at the northernmost point of the Marina Bay area and is located inside the Esplanade Mall (sometimes dubbed the durian building for its resemblance to the pungent fruit). This elevated titan is designed to appeal to the well-heeled, with hedonistic cocktails, captivating performances and DJ sets every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

The Maverick
Situated on the fringes of Kampong Glam, Singapore’s historic Muslim Quarter, this charming rooftop bar is home to ten teepee huts. Appealing to guests’ inner adventurer, it boasts a wildly unconventional layout and a curious array of cocktails. There are also two exclusive beers on offer, thanks to its partnership with local microbrewery, Trouble Brewing. So, whichever boozy adventure you’re seeking, Mr Stork is bound to soar above expectations.
The Lookout
While almost all the bars on this list offer panoramic views, none can make you feel quite as omniscient as those provided by the rooftop bar in Swissotel The Stamford. Towering over everything else in its vicinity, this iconic hotel resembles a lighthouse in its singular stature. SKAI Bar, perched on the 70th floor and equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows, is the perfect spot for gazing out over the cityscape beneath. For those keen to sample the feeling of an all-seeing deity, there’s truly nowhere better.
The Romantic
A little upstream from the Marina Bay area, presiding over an animated mixture of nightlife, is Southbridge. Located in the heart of Boat Quay, this mainstay of the local bar scene has been coaxing people upward with its staple servings of oysters and champagne since 2014. With an alfresco rooftop and intimate lighting, it’s no wonder this clandestine setting has been a favourite of well-informed couples for over a decade.

The Tree-Hugger
Sometimes, the best elevation is provided by nature itself. Crowning Mount Faber Peak, a hilltop escape situated in one of Singapore’s oldest parks, Mirabilis Bar is naturally 300ft above sea level. While it is a little further afield (roughly three miles out of the Downtown Core), the rewards are certainly worth the wait. If this setting alone isn’t botanical enough for you, there’s also a series of floral-infused cocktails on offer and a stunning 16ft-wide floral centrepiece.
