Bahia Vik is the latest member of the stylish Vik retreats family. This chic beach boutique is nestled in ten acres of the sandy dunes of Mansa Beach on the Jose Ignacio Peninsula with magnificent views of the Southern Atlantic Ocean.

The 11 whitewashed bungalows, featuring 37 suites, are designed much like the main building with Uruguayan grey slate and a contemporary open plan design. All large suites will be decorated with individual artworks by Uruguayan and international artists and will have private terraces overlooking the dunes, beach and ocean.

An expansive outdoor terrace by the pool, an indoor dining room and an open- air patio will invite you to dine in style, sampling traditional Uruguayan barbeque, fresh seafood and locally grown vegetables, fruits, as well as homemade breads and pastries, enhanced by outstanding VIK wines from Chile. The beachfront restaurant La Susana, which has already opened to the public and is fast becoming the hottest place in town, is a great spot to pop by for a light lunch or a refreshing cocktail in- between sunbathing at its relaxed beach bar. A sumptious dinner is served in the evenings, accompanied by music for an authentic South American vibe.

Aside from the relaxed vibes oozing from Bahia Vik's location, you can indulge at the retreats spa, relax by one of the four large swimming pools or take a leisurely swim in the nearby bay. Many more outdoor activities, such as horseback riding, golf, tennis, polo lessons and cycling can be enjoyed at the retreat and its two sister properties. Water sports enthusiasts, however, can take part in activities, such as kayaking, surfing and canoeing. And should you fancy a chance to get to know the surrounding wildlife - take a private wildlife tour with a local naturalist on site. Oh and there is a small boutique which exhibits Uruguayan art and local crafts (should you fancy a shop).

It is worth noting at this point that with sustainability at the core of Vik Retreats the property will employ environmentally friendly practices using naturally resources to heat and cool the property, alongside recycling, solar technologies and water collection. So those eco warriors amongst you can seek comfort in luxury with no extra cost to the environment.
