Where To Stay in Whistler

Nita Lake Lodge

This homely boutique hotel is situated in the Creekside Village at the base of Whistler Mountain and is a perfect getaway for a revitalizing summer adventure or an exciting ski holiday.

There are 77 rooms, all furnished with king- sized beds, double soaker bath tubs, glass- enclosed rain showers and large fireplaces. The cosy but chic rooms feature lovely views of the lake, forest or the mountains.

Guests can choose between three incredible fine dining options at the hotel. Aurora Restaurant is an elegant high quality restaurant, serving breakfast and dinner using fresh local ingredients from fisheries, local farms and foragers for their dishes. The Cure Lounge serves casual food, creative drinks and a selection of craft beers, wines and local-distillery spirits. Enjoy the lakeside patio in summer or a cosy evening by the indoor fireplace in winter. The Fix Café serves delicious homemade pastries, sandwiches and gourmet coffee throughout the day.

Start of your day with a refreshing yoga session or an energizing workout at the Wellness & Spa- all with stunning views of Whistler Mountain. An outdoor heated pool and hot tubs, a eucalyptus steam room, a relaxation lounge and multiple spa treatments invite to kick back and fully relax at the hotel spa. For the adventurous ones there are kayak, fish rod, canoe, bike and paddleboard rentals, as well as ski lockers available at the hotel.

Visit the on-site White Dog Whistler art gallery and gaze at amazing paintings and photographs. The hotel is located a five-minute drive from Whistler Village and only 500 metres from the base of Whistler Mountain and the Creekside gondola, perfect for taking ski lessons or a walk through amazing landscapes.

Why We Love It

This hotel is a photographer's paradise surrounded by the most picturesque landscape.

Fairmont Chateau Whistler

At the base of Blackcomb Mountain in Whistler sits the grand Fairmont Chateau Hotel. This tastefully designed ski, golf and spa resort is an all year round destination perfect for families, couples and friends alike and offers spectacular views over the impending mountains and charming village of Whistler.

There are 550 rooms at the hotel including Guest Rooms, Suites and Speciality Rooms. The Deluxe Valley Room provides a comfortable lounge with breath- taking vistas whilst the Moderate Room is ideal for couples with its cosy atmosphere and bathroom window seat. The Junior Valley View Suite is perfect for families with its luxurious bedroom and cosy parlour, separated by French doors, providing ample floor space.

With six diverse restaurants on site at the Fairmont Chateau there shouldn't be a grumbling stomach in sight. The Wildflower serves breakfast, dinner and even Sunday brunch in the holiday seasons whilst the Grill Room offers fine dining including scrumptious steaks and fresh seafood. For the little ones, the Whistler Family restaurant has child friendly dining and those under five years eat for free when an accompanying adult purchases an entrée.

This hotel really has it all; tennis courts, a golf course, indoor and outdoor pools, bicycle and ski Storage and babysitting facilities if you're itching to ditch the kids and hit the slopes. The Health club and spa provide a tranquil environment to work out or relax in and the outdoor heated lap pool has underwater music (which kills our recent innovative idea of 'waterproof headphones' - imagine knocking out laps to Chariots of Fire - well now you can).

With more than 8,100 acres of skiable terrain between the two magnificent mountains (Whistler and Blackcomb) the Fairmont Chateau Whistler is the ideal basecamp for an exhilarating ski adventure. Ride the gondola between the two peeks for magnificent views of the mountain ranges or take a full or half day guided tour available for skiers of varying ability. There really is something for everyone here with beginner ski and snowboard classes for novices, kid's programmes for the little ones and two day extreme free-skiing excursions for the diehard professionals. Whistler isn't a ski only resort though as the summer season makes great use of the outdoors in alternative ways. From mountain biking, to hiking to mini golf and bungee trampolines there's an array of activities to keep guests busy.

Why We Love It

Swimming in some of Whistlers warmest lakes in the summer whilst on a guided excursion!

The Westin

Located in Canada's greatest year-round recreation destination (yes, it's not all about the white winter powder) the Westin Resort and Spa sits in a desirable spot by Blackcomb Whistler and acted as the host resort for downhill events at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

The Westin offers 400 comfortable suites, each with a calming and inviting atmosphere, a cosy fireplace for winter evenings and sumptuous Westin Heavenly Bed. Many of the Deluxe Studio Suites come with a balcony or patio while the luxurious Penthouse Mansion Suite is spread over two floors and has a Jacuzzi tub commanding breath-taking views out over the village and mountains or, alternatively, the neighbouring forest.

The Grill & Vine restaurant serves traditional favourites with a local twist and has a modern interpretation of classic grill food whilst Kaze Sushi serves tasty Japanese cuisine. Off the Vine grab & go is the perfect coffee station to drop into before heading out for the day and FireRock Lounge is worth a visit for an apres ski drink.

The Avello Spa & Health Club offers over 75 treatments from facials to body wraps to hot rock massages and Vichy hydrotherapy showers. The fitness studio features state of the art equipment and the hotel has teamed up with New Balance meaning you don't even have to pack any gym gear (thank goodness) and can just hire kit on arrival.

Whistler Blackcomb is home to all things adventure. With its white powder mountains, skiing and snowboarding are the big draw in winter. From cross country skiing to beginner lessons, the mountains cater to all desired adrenaline levels. In the summer Whistler is the perfect destination to embark on bike rides, or sightseeing excursions and relaxing peak to peak gondola rides. Once you're all adventured-out the pedestrianised streets of Whistler are brimming with boutique shops, sought after eateries and entertainment outlets meaning there's always something to do.

Why We Love It

We love the summer BBQ that takes place on Saturdays out on the terrace.

Four Seasons Whistler

The Four Seasons Resort Whistler rests in the prime location at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, a 400 yard walk to the Blackcomb ski lifts and a short shuttle to the village and Whistler Mountain.

The 273 rooms and suites have cosy wooden interiors, large comfortable furnishings and each boasts its own terrace or balcony.

Foodies take note that the hotels' main restaurant Sidecut, serves a range of international dishes, but specialises in top quality steaks. All meals can be perfectly matched with a glass or two of fine wine, with other 200 different bottles to choose from. The restaurant is a light with inviting fires and sleek alpine interiors. The Fifty Two 80 Eatery + Bar is a perfect après ski spot, serving a range of light snacks and heavier meals for lunch and dinner. Enjoy a cocktail and live music is the relaxed atmosphere and open air freshness.

Guests looking for a little R & R will find great delight in the hotel's spa, offering a range of treatments such as glacial clay wraps from the local British Columbian lakes, massages to rejuvenate tired muscles, and an outdoor swimming pool that is heated throughout the winter.

Ski hire can be arranged through the hotel's rental shop on the ground floor, and for dining there is an excellent bistro with glorious mountain views, and a fine selection of American wines.

Why We Love It

The daily hot chocolate they serve slope-side is to die for!
