The surrounding lava field is flanked by golden sand beaches and seals can often be seen swimming just offshore or resting on the rocks. A short walk from the hotel is the crater which produced the lava field thousands of years ago. There are plenty of activities to enjoy in the area, from whale-watching to hiking and snow-mobiling.

Budir is an escapist's paradise, offering complete tranquility in stunning surroundings. On a crisp, sunny day (or night, during the summer months of midnight sun) the views of the glacier-topped Mt. Snaefells from the hotel's dining room are superb, as is the food.
