The Condesa is a stylish design hotel where all the furniture is individually crafted for each individual space.
With an Art Deco façade and cool funky interiors designed by Mexican architect Javier Sanchez and French designer India Mahdavi. This is a hotel for those looking for some fun, nightlife and a sophisticated buzz.
The rooms are uber smart, beautifully designed and distributed over 3 floors. The biggest rooms are the corner room and the top suite, a favourite of Bono and Liv Tyler.
Other facilities include a restaurant serving excellent Mexican and Japanese fusion, a nightclub in the basement, an energy room with Spa facilities, a Hammam and a huge wooden decked roof top chill out area offering sushi and cocktails.
Why We Love It
This hotel is perfect for those nocturnal types- with a popular roof terrace open till 2am and an underground nightclub open until the wee hours.
The Four Seasons in Mexico City is ideally situated on the Paseo de la Reforma, near Chapultepec Park, the National Museum of Anthropology and History, shopping and residential areas.
The hotel has 240 bedrooms, including 40 suites surrounding a beautifully landscaped fountain courtyard. All the guest rooms are large and elegantly furnished. They come with a range of modcons and either have views of the courtyard or the surrounding avenues. One of the advantages of staying here is being able to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and relax by the swimming pool - a very welcome treat after a full day exploring the historical sites, museums and canals running through the city. There is also a health club and Spa offering a variety of pampering treatments.
Why We Love It
The swimming pool is a welcome retreat from the busy city avenues.
Located in the fashionable district of Polanco, Las Alcobas is one of Mexico City's newest and trendiest boutique hotels, surrounded by designer shops, restaurants and nightclubs.
As the name Las Alcobas - the alcoves - suggests, this hotel strives to create a cosy 'home away from home' atmosphere for its guests. There are just 35 spacious rooms and suites which feature the latest state of the art technology and are decorated with a blend of modern Mexican design and some traditional brightly coloured regional artwork. The mini-spa bathrooms have huge rainforest showers and large whirlpool baths.
The small fitness room and spa, which offers a variety of treatments and massages, are a rarity in smaller hotels in Mexico City and the attached restaurant, La Dulce Patria, is undoubtedly one of the finest around, specialising in modern Mexican cuisine under the supervision of award-winning chef Martha Ortiz.
Why We Love It
Celebs love the hotel restaurant, La Dulce Patria, and Bono was there celebrating his birthday when we were last in town.
