Last Minute Escapes

Don't Panic! If you know where to look, there's still availability in some of the hottest (in all senses of the word) spots in Europe and around the Mediterranean. Here are just a few ideas for luxury last minute holidays...

Turkey has been in the news for all the wrong reasons of late...

But there is one upside to all this - availability is better than it should be at this time of year. It's now business as usual in Istanbul, but at this time of year the place to see and be seen is the Aegean Coast where a slew of supercool new hotels await.

For families still looking to get away, a) you really should think about booking earlier and b) fear not - there is still limited availability about one of our all time classic kid-friendly favourites - the Anassa in Cyprus.

Alternatively, families could think a little leftfield and head for the hills - or the Dolomite Mountains in Italy, to be precise. Good clean wholesome fun for the kids, and good clean wholesome food and wine for the parents. Perfetto.

Same country, different scene and a new hotel that's taking the Amalfi Coast by storm. Monastero Santa Rosa is the dictionary definition of a labour of love after owner Bianca salvaged this 17th Century monastery in 2001 before painstakingly restoring it to its former glory. Not cheap, but you gets what you pays for.

Last but not least, a short hop and skip from Italy across to the other side of the Mediterranean lies the delicious Residence in Tunis. This is a great place in the cooler months of May, June, September and October but as it's on the same latitude as Southern Spain, Sicily, the Greek Islands and Turkey it isn't out of the question for high summer either. Even better, they've got a great 'Stay 7, pay 6' deal going from now until December. Don't rule it out!
