There are just over 200 rooms at Verdura Resort, all with private terraces and fantastic views. Designer Olga Polizzi has combined Sicilian charm with a fresh contemporary edge, and all of the rooms are stunning and have all of the latest mod cons.

New for summer 2017 are the resorts three Villas - Villa Acacia, Villa Peonia and Villa Mimosa - which offer families and large groups the opportunity to stay in total privacy, while still using all of the resort facilities, via private golf buggies. These Villas are all exceptionally spacious and come with their own terraces, pools, Jacuzzis and dining areas, as well as a great range of exclusive services.

There is a choice of four restaurants, ranging from authentic Mediterranean food at La Zagra to a more informal atmosphere at the beachfront Amare, which serves delicious seafood alfresco.

A golf lovers paradise, Verdura Resort boasts a championship course and hosted the 2012 Sicilian Open. There are also two further 18-hole golf courses. Golf aside, there are plenty of other facilities and activities available, and as with any Rocco Forte property, both children and grown ups alike will never be bored. There are six tennis courts, a swimming pool, a full size football pitch and a gym.

For those looking to relax, the spa is fantastic and offers a huge range of treatments and four outdoor Thalassotherapy pools will wash away any stresses. Alternatively, head to the mile long stretch of beach armed with a good book or just a good old fashioned bucket and spade.

The hotel also boasts a fantastic kids and teens club - Verduland - which can cater for little ones from newborns up to 16 years old. The 'RBabies' programme looks after children from newborn to age three, and offers a sleep room, indoor and outdoor play areas. For four to twelve year olds, 'RKids' offer plenty of indoor play space, as well as a dedicated childrens swimming pool outside, while 'RTeens' are catered for in their own den - The Fort - where they can meet and socialise. The RKids and RTeens programmes are complimentary, and offer a variety of sports, arts and crafts activities to keep the younger family members occupied.

Giorgia and Stefano Barbini, the deeply stylish owners of the equally stylish San Lorenzo Mountain Lodge in the Dolomites, have an eye for detail that even we are in awe of.
