101 Hotel is a totally chic boutique in Reykjavik. As Iceland’s first design hotel it is nothing less than smart, funky and oozing with style.

The interior is a stunning example of Nordic minimalism with a hint of eccentric detailing. The general atmosphere is that of refined elegance and stylish comfort. The décor is a sleek blend of black, white and greys, with heated wooden floors throughout. The bedrooms and bathrooms are open plan, which creates extra light and space, and there are free-standing bathtubs.

All 38 guest rooms are simple in comparison to the arty décor in the rest of the property. They are seamlessly modern and kitted out with widescreen TVs, DVD players & iPod sound-docks, and some rooms on the top floors even have views across the Bay of Reykajvik.

On the ground floor is a long, glass-roofed bar-restaurant that lets the midnight sun flood in during the summer months, oh and it has a white baubled wall - swish! The venue really is quite hip and attracts socialites alike to its Euro-Asian cuisine, expert mixologists and trendy vibes.

In the basement is a billiards room, small gym and a mini-spa with a steam bath, jacuzzi and plunge pool. However should you fancy venturing out of the hotel to explore Iceland highlights such as a Northern Light expedition, whale watching, the Blue Lagoon, fly fishing, horse riding and much much more - all can be arranged.

Though by no means a beautiful building, the Nordica offers extremely comfortable accommodation and excellent facilities.

Hotel Borg

Hotel Borg

Good things happen when you least expect them, and certainly no one would have expected that a hotel designed by an Icelandic wrestler in the 1930’s would become one of Reykjavik’s most charismatic hotels. Art Deco to its core, Hotel Borg is enduringly elegant and proudly stands next to Parliament and the National Cathedral.
