The Arlberg Hospiz is a family-owned hotel located in the small village of St. Christoph.
The Arlberg Hospiz's 90 rooms range from the 'mini,' perfect for solo skiers, to the Presidential Suite, ideal for families and groups of friends looking for the most luxurious accommodation available in St Christoph. Each of the rooms combines Tyrolean hospitality with traditional Alpine décor, complete with a comfortable bed, a bath and satellite TV. Outside your room, there is a lovely spa with a range of delicious treatments and massages, steam room and sauna; a gym, just in case you don't get enough of a work out on the slopes; and an indoor pool, complete with bar.
The hotel's restaurants offer a variety of cuisines for every palette, from hearty traditional Austrian fare in the Great Hall to Mediterranean offerings in the Ski Club Room. Guests can take advantage of the Dine Around package, which enables them to sample each of the restaurants at the Alberg Hospiz, including the legendary Hospiz Alm Restaurant. The hotel is rightfully proud of its wine collection and cellars, which have played host to heads of state, royalty, and business leaders over the years.
Perfectly placed for the slopes of St Christoph, Arlberg Hospiz is the ideal base for exploring the huge Arlberg ski area and, rather handily, can organise ski instructors for those who would like a few lessons - either to learn the basics or brush up on the finer points of schussing. Last, but by no means least, the family friendly hotel has an English Speaking kids club on offer for parents who want to tackle the trickier runs, and a babysitting service, so that they can take full advantage of the après ski activities on offer.
Why We Love It
The hotel occupies the site of a 14th-century hospice that burned down in the 1950s. Only the cellars survive from the old building, but they house a famous collection of Bordeaux and Burgundy wines.
The St. Antoner Hof is an intimate, five-star boutique hotel in the historic centre of St. Anton.
Just a few minute's walk from the nearest lifts, the St. Antoner Hof is built in the traditional chalet style and the interiors are decorated in typical Tyrolean fashion, with plenty of wood and warm colours. Each of the 38 bedrooms is uniquely decorated in keeping with the hotel's cool aesthetic, and comes with a private balcony. Most rooms, from the standard doubles to the Suite Dependence, also have open fireplaces for warming your bones post-piste.
The elegant restaurant, Raffl Stube, is one of the best in St. Anton and serves a wide range of international dishes as well as local delicacies. The chef likes to say that he and his team create art with food, and we're inclined to agree. The hotel even hosts various culinary theme evenings, including Austrian, so guests can get a full flavour of local living.
Other than tip top skiing in the heartland of Alpine skiing, facilities at St Antoner Hof include a bar, swimming pool, fitness centre, sauna and steam bath. With its welcoming, relaxed atmosphere, the St. Antonerhof is the ideal place to unwind after a good day's skiing, before embarking on a good night's après-ski.
