Little Good Harbour

Located in the tranquil little fishing community of Shermans, Little Good Harbour's charm is all down to it being one of the last family-run ocean front hotels on the fashionable west coast of Barbados.

The 21 whitewashed cottages are nestled among tropical gardens and ooze elegance with their fusion of Balinese and Caribbean décor. Each cottage has its own sitting room and fully equipped kitchens. The hotel will stock your cottage with groceries prior to arrival to ensure your holiday is as hassle free as possible.

The hotel has two swimming pools with private sunbathing areas or it is just a short walk to the calm Caribbean waters and sandy beaches of Shermans Bay. Golf, tennis, sailing, deep sea fishing, snorkelling and various island tours can also be arranged through the hotel. Just across the street from the cottages, the superb beachside Fish Pot Restaurant has been fitted into the remains of a 17th century British garrison and is renowned for serving some of the best food on the island. With its ever changing seafood menu and unbeatable setting on the water's edge, the Fish Pot has unsurprisingly earned quite a following among the locals.

Why We Love It

The neighbouring village on a Friday is the place to be when the local fishermen bring in their day's catch, you can grab yourself a fresh fish supper.

Cobblers Cove

Set amidst three acres of lush tropical gardens on one of Barbados's most picturesque and quietest beaches, this charming hotel blends the elegance of an English country manor with the beauty of Barbados.

Forty well appointed suites are decorated in a typical English style with subtle Caribbean accents and the sitting rooms all open onto a private balcony or terrace.

The award-winning restaurant looks over the azure waters of the Caribbean Sea and transforms from a casual lunch spot during the day into an elegant candle-lit restaurant in the evening.

Facilities include a freshwater seafront swimming pool and a wellbeing centre, and complimentary tennis, waterskiing, windsurfing, sailing and snorkelling are all available.

Why We Love It

The spectacular gardens at Cobblers Cove boast a wonderful array of colourful and exotic plant life, including palms, torch lilies, hibiscus, bougainvillea and orchids.

The Atlantis

Completely restored in 2009, the delightful Atlantis was the first hotel to open on the Island's east coast back in 1883. Today, the property has the same great views over the rugged Atlantic coastline and is the ideal place to relax away from the more popular west coast.

Located in the quaint fishing village of Tent Bay, this beach-chic boutique hotel has been immaculately restored by the current owners to bring a modern twist to a traditional Barbadian building.

10 over-sized suites directly overlook the ocean's surf and all have been tastefully decorated with brightly coloured colonial style furniture. Amenities include iPod docks and wireless internet and there is a swimming pool on the property, much needed given the strong rip currents which plague this part of the coast.

The restaurant serves delicious Caribbean cuisine in a stylish setting and the chef takes pride in creating menus using fresh local ingredients. The hotel also has a bar with a very good wine selection.

Why We Love It

Long famed for its excellent West Indian Sunday lunch buffet, the new owners of the Atlantis have fortunately kept the tradition alive so it is worth being here on a Sunday to tuck into some of the island's best Bajan food.
