A collection of four luxury private houses set on a 40,000-acre private conservation area (that's three times the size of Manhattan), 50 miles north of Mt Kenya.
The Sanctuary at Ol Lentille remains one of East Africa's most luxurious and exclusive properties, offering private use of an entire house based on occupancies of 6 people at The Chief's House, 4 people at The Colonel's House, 2 adults OR 2 adults + 2 children at The Sultan's House, and 2 adults at The Eyrie. Thus making it an ideal place for both honeymooners and families alike. Each house has its own staff of Butler and Valet, and each house has complimentary exclusive use of a 4x4 safari vehicle and personal Guide. All Spa treatments are also included and offer a range of massages, aromatherapy, reflexology and other treatments.
In the past 3 years their population of some of Africa's most threatened species, greater kudu, African wild dog, elephant, striped hyena, and leopard has grown very significantly. Guest sightings of these increasingly rare animals are now a regular occurrence, especially since the completion of the lodges wildlife-viewing waterhole in the valley in front of the lodge. A new wild dog pack of 36 individuals has recently appeared here and a number of them have been fit with radio collars for research purposes, which also helps to ensure sightings of them.
Activities include game drives (day & night) and walks, quad-biking, mountain biking, camel excursions, archery, boules and croquet, all of which are included in the cost. Use of horses is available at extra charge. Ol Lentille is very involved with the local community, and they welcome guests to visit some of the local projects on the conservancy and to visit the schools and the clinics. Children in particular love visiting the schools and hearing the school children sing, as well as playing the odd game of football with some of the staff members of the lodge.
