With a fantastic location, perched on the edge of an escarpment overlooking the Laikipa region, is Loisaba Tented Camp. One of the lodges in the very successful Loisaba Conservancy – which is actually larger than many of Kenya’s National Parks – Loisaba Tented Camp offers fantastic opportunity to spot over 260 species of birds, elephant, buffalo, zebra, kudu and even the rare wild dog.
Loisaba Tented Camp houses just six luxurious Double Tents (half of which are Convertible Twin/Double Tents) and three Family Tents (each made up of a Double Tent and a Convertible Twin/Double Tent, with a shared veranda). All of these tents are crafted from canvas and polished timber, are decorated in neutral tones and, with a fusion of African and Scandi style, make modern and tranquil spaces. To take full advantage of the stunning plateau views, the tents all also feature floor to ceiling windows and expansive verandas to sit and relax on.
Dining at Loisaba Tented Camp is done in the large open dining area, followed by drinks in the open bar and lounge. Alternatively food and drink can be enjoyed on the outdoor terrace under star studded skies or the glorious African sunshine.
From Loisaba Tented Camp, spend days exploring Loisaba Conservancy, spotting wildlife on game drives or guided walks. For those looking to change things up a little you could also try a camel or horse riding safari, or opt to mountain bike through the area. Aside the stunning landscapes and varied wildlife, Loisaba works closely with the local Samburu and Laikipiak Maasai tribes, and so guests are also able to spend an afternoon at a local Maasai village for a unique cultural experience. Then, if all of that has worn you out, there is of course the infinity pool to relax by.
