Patagonia Camp is an original, eco-friendly camp located amid spectacular surroundings on the shore of Lake Toro in Chilean Patagonia.
Accommodation is in 18 individual yurts, set amongst beech trees with views across the lake to the distant peaks of the Paine Mountains. The heated yurts are warm and cosy inside, and each comes with a private bathroom and a small terrace. Elevated wooden walkways link the yurts to a central building that houses the restaurant, bar and living room. As of 2017 three superior yurts have been added to the camp that cater perfectly to families and couples alike and feature chic Chilean décor, a spacious living room (with interconnecting bedrooms), refreshment area, private balcony terrace and outdoor Jacuzzi.
Patagonia Camp has been designed to have minimum impact on the environment. The entire complex is built on wooden stilts and platforms to minimise damage to the vegetation, and all lighting is powered by solar energy.
Delicious and healthy meals are served, based on regional products such as lamb and southern hake with fresh, locally produced fruits and vegetables. From the camp, guests can enjoy guided treks through the forests to crystalline lakes and waterfalls. Day trips to the nearby Torres del Paine National Park are easily done, taking in the main attractions including the glaciers and the granite tower formations that give the park its name. Altogether, Patagonia Camp offers adventure combined with comfort and luxury, total immersion in nature, and the ideal place from which to experience the wild and rugged landscapes of Patagonia.
