With the exception of nearby Philipsburg (population 930), The Ranch at Rock Creek offers the perfect wild west experience, and it really is wild, with 6,600 acres of mountains, meadows, lakes and streams between you and any real evidence of civilisation.

That 6,600 acres of ranch land sits at the base of the John Long Mountains and encompasses four miles of river frontage along Rock Creek, bordering the Deer Lodge National Forest. The views of the Flint Creak Range to the east are incredible.

With nine bedrooms, the Granite Lodge is the hub of the Ranch, sitting on a small ridge just west of Rock Creek. Each room oozes style and luxury, yet maintaining the Western theme. Alternatively, a spot of glamping in the signature canvas cabins is a brilliant way to experience nature in plenty of comfort. Finally, for those searching for that extra peace and quiet, there are 12 magnificence private homes to hire within walking distance of the main lodge.

The Ranch dining room offers excellent quality regionally inspired cuisine, served in predictably generous portions. The menu is seasonal, featuring Montana raised meats and dairy products in addition to local and organically grown produce. The Blue Canteen is a quieter spot ideal for a morning coffee and fresh pastry or drinks and snacks throughout the day . There are various special dining events at The Ranch on a weekly basis. These include a Dutch oven dinner on the Granite Lodge's flagstone, Rodeo burger BBQ at the Blue Canteen and a Chefs' grill.

Although The Ranch is isolated, it offers an enormous array of activities making the most of Montana's natural environment and wildlife. Riding, fly fishing, shooting, archery, mountain biking, hiking, paintball, and a great Kids Club are all available. Winter season activities range from cross-country skiing and ice-skating to snowmobiling and snowcat tours. The Ranch also has an outdoor swimming pool & hot tub, sauna and spa, as well as the Silver Dollar Saloon with bowling, billiards, shuffleboard and movie cinema.
