B.O.G is the country’s, let alone city’s, first Design Hotel; and having opened in early 2012, it is certainly the coolest new kid on the block.
The 55 rooms were the charge of renowned designer Nini Andrade Silva, whose lavish use of golds, emeralds (one of Colombia's biggest exports), mirrors, mosaics and tinted glass contrast with the stark simplicity of the concrete exterior. All of the above however are used sparingly, and the décor is at once contemporary and opulent. Comfort is of the utmost importance, and large beds and soundproof walls complete the picture.
Restaurant La Leo is headed up by chef Leonor Espinosa, who takes pride in preserving old age Colombian traditions with recipes such ajiaco, a chicken and corn soup served with rice and salad. The rooftop bar is the best place to enjoy one of the resident mixologist's killer cocktails - made with local ingredients combined with exotic flavours - and the views over the rolling hills that frame the city are fantastic.
Next to the rooftop bar is the heated rooftop swimming pool. After a day of soaking in Bogota's culture - B.O.G is one of the only boutique hotels in the Zona Rosa and is excellently placed for exploring in the city - hit the 9th floor for a cocktail and a dip and lap up the amazing views.
Escape the hustle and bustle of Bogotá with a dip and a drink on the hotel's rooftop.
