For guests looking for understated luxury, look no further - The Anderson Inn is a family run contemporary boutique hotel, and nothing says quintessential seaside home stay than the hotel’s stunning spot on the waterfront in Morro Bay.
The hotel's interior décor evokes the calming tranquillity of its seaside location with fresh pastel colours and large windows. There are just eight rooms, all decorated with whitewashed wood ceilings, light fabrics and modern furnishings. Each room has its own private balcony with a view of the bay and Morro Rock and fireplaces to keep guests cosy in the slightly chillier months. The harbour front rooms boast soaking tubs, which make sunset relaxation just that little bit more enjoyable.
Established in 1966, the harbour-front restaurant, The Galley Seafood Grill and Bar is one of Morro Bay's finest and every meal served at The Galley comes complete with a stunning view of Morro Rock and the Bay. The restaurant is coveniently loacted below the hotel. There is no breakfast at the Inn, but fear not Frankie and Lola's down the road will sort guests out. Plus being in a prime location there are plenty of restaurants, shops and galleries within walking distance.
Whether it's a cold beverage or cup of tea in hand the hotel's private seaside deck offers the best view of the iconic Morro Rock at sunset. For additional bliss and relaxation guests can enjoy in room massages or a range of beauty treatments (however - book in advance to avoid disappointment). Alternatively the endless stretches of white sandy beaches won't dissatisfy.
Its super seaside location lends itself wonderfully to anyone after an active pursuit whilst on holiday, with sport fishing, boat tours, whale watching, surfing, kayaking, canoeing and sailing (to name a few). What is especially great is when kayaking guests may find themselves come across sea otters or sea lions. For a culture fix Morro Bay has a wide range of art galleries, concerts, farmers markets and museums for guests to wander to. There is also nearby wine tasting and vineyard tours available in Paso Robles and Edna Valley.
