Situated in the heart of rural Pench is one-of-a-kind Jamtara Wilderness Camp, which takes its name from the nearby village of Jamtara. Secluded in India’s wilderness it provides the perfect opportunity for exploring the country's wildlife and jungle. What makes the Jamtara Wilderness Camp even more exclusive – is that it is the only camp located in such a close proximity to the Pench National Park- let the adventures begin!
There are just 12 luxury tents at the Jamtara Wilderness Camp, surrounded by the beauty of the jungle with its Arjuna trees and an ancient Banyan tree in the centre. All Tents feature an open and light design with wooden furniture and hardwood flooring. The beauty of these tents is being immersed in nature and having fabulous views of the forest from every tented room. The colonial safari- styled rooms are little more superior with lots of space to relax after a day of exciting jungle safari, leaving modern day routines back at home. Each tent includes a bathroom with all luxury amenities, facilities and natural light. Just outside the bedroom area you can sneak on a spacious, private patio overlooking a riverbed, which attracts wildlife throughout the year and is a great spot to relax, soak up the sun and the calmness of the surrounding nature.
Situated just two minutes away from the Pench National Park gate entrance, the opportunities of seeing amazing wilderness and wildlife is endless. Cycling and walking trails are provided throughout the park to explore its vast surroundings. You can take part on guided tours and drives even when the park is closed due to the camps perfect location. Catch a glimpse of different types of deer, jungle cat, leopard and if you are lucky even a tiger.
Be sure not to miss a visit to Jamtara village whilst you are in the area. The village is small, friendly and wonderfully refreshing as you go back in time with their minimal use of modern day electronics, machines and even transportation. We know - bliss!
The special highlight of the camp is the 'star beds', set up on the villagers farmland, for star gazing or simply enjoying the untouched wilderness by night.
