Occupying an impressive mansion dating from 1755, this five-star hotel is a Copenhagen landmark. Now reopened after an extensive refurbishment, the hotel is set to regain its title as Copenhagen's most prestigious hotel.
With a superb location right in the heart of the city overlooking Kongens Nytorv (King's Square), the hotel's interiors are stylish and elegant, with the rooms and suites all decorated and furnished to a very high standard.
Facilities include the luxurious Arndal spa & fitness centre, which has an indoor swimming pool, sauna, Turkish bath, gym and a range of beauty treatments on offer. There is also a bar and 24-hour room service and the restaurant has an al fresco terrace for summer dining.
Most of Copenhagen's main attractions are within easy walking distance, including the Charlottenborg Art Gallery just across the square, and the pedestrianised shopping street, Strøget, just to the south. In winter the square in front of the hotel is converted into a skating rink.
Despite its name, and to the relief of many, the elegant Restaurant d'Angleterre serves excellent Franco-Danish rather than English cuisine.
