Vietnam Visa Requirements
British citizens can visit Vietnam for up to 45 days without a visa, if travelling for tourism or business. When you arrive, your passport will be stamped with an entry and exit stamp, and the exit stamp will include the date you need to leave the country by (45 days after your arrival), so ensure this is correct before leaving the airport, as it cannot be changed after you have left the airport.
All foreign nationals entering Vietnam via Tan Son Nhat Airport (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City are now encouraged by the Vietnamese Government to complete a digital arrival card online before arriving. Alternatively, there will be a QR code on display on arrival to link you to the form. We would suggest completing it in advance of your arrival, to speed up your immigration procedure.
If you wish to remain in Vietnam as a tourist for more than 45 days, you will need to either obtain a pre-approval letter (Original Travel can assist with this), or apply for an e-visa online.
Other nationalities should check with the Vietnam embassy directly.
Passport Validity for Vietnam Travel
Your passport should be valid for six months from the date you arrive. Make sure that your passport isn’t damaged, as this can cause issues with entry.
For further information, please check with the embassy.
