Sri Lanka Visa Requirements

British citizens need a visa to enter Sri Lanka. You can apply for a Sri Lanka ‘Electronic Travel Authorisation’ (or ETA) online – these are issued free of charge and allow you to stay in the country for up to 30 days. We recommend applying at least a week before arrival.

If you wish to stay for longer, you can apply for a visa extension online using Sri Lanka’s official immigration portal.

Passport Validity for Sri Lanka Travel

Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of your arrival in Sri Lanka.
