COMO Cocoa Island is located in the less developed South Malé Atoll of the Maldives, reached by a 30-minute private speedboat transfer from the international airport.
Accommodation at COMO Cocoa Island is inspired by the traditional dhoni boats sailed by local fishermen. The rooms are all reached via wooden jetties reaching out over the shallow blue waters of the lagoon and from the terrace of each one steps lead straight down into the warm Maldivian sea. All rooms come with the 'mod'est of mod cons and even flip-flops are provided.
Facilities on Cocoa Island include a Shambhala Retreat Spa offering expert yoga tuition, and a range of treatments and therapies based on natural Asian traditions. Windsurfing and sailing are on offer at the watersports centre and the diving at COMO Cocoa Island is exceptional. A fully equipped dive centre staffed by PADI-certified instructors caters to every level of experience, and there are more than twenty different dive sites in the area. On the eastern side of the island, the reefs are perfect for snorkelling.
Other activities available include deep-sea fishing, island-hopping trips and sunset cruises. Alternatively, guests can just relax on the idyllic white sand beach or by the large swimming pool. Dining at COMO Cocoa Island features a blend of Indian and Sri Lankan traditions, with plenty of fresh local produce, such as lobster.
To the west of the island lies the Kandooma Channel, regarded as one of the best dive sites in the Maldives.
