The Lesic Dimitri occupies a recently restored 18th-century bishop's palace next door to the house Marco Polo lived in.
The hotel is the only one within the walls of the old town, and has an admirable policy of only employing locals who, by definition, know the lie of the land. In total there are six self-contained suites with their own kitchens and the larger ones having their own living rooms, private courtyards or balconies, and as many as four bedrooms apiece.
One of the Lesic Dimitri's special services is that it owns private motor and sailing yachts. The private motor yacht is available for excursions to nearby islands such as Lastovo, Mljet or Hvar where guests can enjoy the sunshine, swim in the sparkling sea and indulge in the great restaurants on offer.
The Palace's very own vintage sailing boat, Vipera, offers a great way to explore the surrounding Korcula archipelago. The skipper, Darko, will whisk you off for a full day cruising around the islands. Lunch will be served at one of the seaside restaurants and a meal is served on board. Also you will have the possibility to swim, sunbathe, relax and as the afternoon wind picks up sail up the channel to enjoy the spectacular sunset.
Another special service that the Lesic Dimitri provides is the spa treatments within the privacy of the residences. Furthermore, the wine bar on the seafront below the hotel serves delicious local produce. It is the perfect place to try a glass of delicious local Grk wine. Might be best to point at it on the wine list rather than try and pronounce it.
Toni, the hotel manager, is also a trained opera singer and after a glass or two of wine might be persuaded to sing...
