In the private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve and on the banks of the Savute Channel, DumaTau Camp is a luxury tented camp offering some exceptional game viewing opportunities.
There are just ten tents at the camp, eight twins and two family tents. All of the tents are raised off the ground to offer fantastic river views, which are best enjoyed from the private decks. Inside the tents are spacious and airy, with floor to ceiling sliding doors making the most of the views and neutral colour schemes creating a tranquil and cosy atmosphere. Quirky features such as traditional maps and old trunks add a little character too.
The dining experience at DumaTau Camp is centred around the airy and expansive dining tent. Guests will overlook the lagoon while feasting on a variety of freshly prepared African dishes, then head down to the boma for a drink or two around the campfire as the sun sets.
Of course the main purpose of a trip to this part of the world is the game viewing. Head out on morning and evening game drives and look out for lions, wild dogs, and - since this is something of an elephant 'corridor' - huge numbers of elephant. Alternatively, opt to make your game viewing a little more leisurely with a barge ride down the Linyanti River, where you'll see animals coming to drink and bathe. In between wildlife sightings, relax at the camp pool and soak up some sun as birdsong lulls you to sleep in the afternoon sun.
The sweeping views across the river are nothing short of stunning.
