The National Park of Jericoacoara is flanked by huge dunes, with lakes of crystal-clear water that are the ideal place for newcomers to wind or kite surfing.

Located in a conservation area, the National Park of Jericoacoara and its huge dunes means that it's out of the way of the ferocious onshore wind.

At Prea, the cross-shore winds are strong, the waves huge, and high speeds can be achieved. There are a number of IKO schools here from which 1 to 1 lessons are given.

Why We Love It

Experienced kite surfers make for the beach at Prea, a small fishing village about 12km outside Jeri itself.
