Located within a landscape of arid plateaus in Namibia’s Erongo region, is the small city of Omaruru. Established at the end of the 19th century, it quickly became an important trading post for the region. The town lies at a crossroads between Etosha National Park – one of the largest parks in Africa - the capital city of Windhoek and the great Naukluft Nationl Park, and is a pretty stopover along the way. Some highlights in the area include the Omaruru Game Park, where you can observe rhinos, ostriches, leopards, oryx and zebras, and Otjihenamaparero, a city and constituency where you can see dinosaur
footprints that date back thousands of years.
