Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Your African adventure begins today. Head to the airport, whizz through security and board your nine-hour flight from London to Nairobi. Upon arrival, take a transfer to your hotel and grab some much-needed shut-eye.

After a restful night, head to Wilson Airport for a scenic 40-minute flight to Nanyuki. On arrival, your lodge guide will meet you at the landing strip and drive you through the savannah to your luxurious tented camp in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Tucked away at the foot of Mount Kenya, this small and intimate camp is the perfect choice for newlyweds looking to escape the madness of wedmin.

The Conservancy is home to Kenya's largest population of black rhinos, as well as elephants, cheetahs, lions and leopards, so you're in the right place to catch your first glimpse of Africa's most famous four-legged inhabitants. Even better, Laikipia is at the forefront of groundbreaking conservation initiatives and local community support.

Spend the rest of today observing the wildlife as it gathers around the watering hole from the comfort of your own private veranda, sundowner in hand – the perfect start to your honeymoon.

Wake up this morning and tuck into a delicious al fresco breakfast. With three days to discover Laikipia, you'll likely be itching to embark on a game drive to spot giraffes, zebras and lions, and your wishes will quickly be answered. For a change of pace, enjoy a bushwalk with an experienced guide or explore your surroundings on horseback or mountain bike. You could even hop in a canoe and glide past wildlife drinking at the water's edge.

During your stay, you can also visit the Morani Centre to witness some of the last remaining northern white rhinos and spend time with the anti-poaching dog units to learn about their incredible work.

In the evenings, head out on a night drive in search of nocturnal residents – think cutesy bush babies and porcupines. It’s also prime time for predator sightings, as leopards and lions emerge to hunt (eek). Back at camp, indulge in top-class dining under the African stars over a bottle of champagne with your other half.

This morning, wave goodbye to Laikipia and continue your honeymoon in the iconic Maasai Mara. You might be able to squeeze in one final game drive before your driver whisks you back to the airstrip for your flight to Mara North Private Conservancy, taking just over an hour. After touchdown, your guide will drive you to your cosy tented camp, tucked away in a picture-perfect valley.

Freshen up and settle in before toasting married life (again) with a crisp glass of wine on your private deck.

The Mara North Conservancy encompasses over 60,000 acres of scenic, private wilderness. Visitor numbers are limited, ensuring an exclusive safari experience. Famous for its big cats, this is the place to be for unrivalled lion-spotting – look out for our feline friends as well as buffaloes, giraffes and elephants on your morning and evening game drives. Spend as much time as you like exploring the plains in a 4x4 (and if you want a romantic touch, we can arrange a picnic lunch).

You can also dive into Maasai Mara life on a visit to a local village, where you’ll meet the Maasai people and learn about their community. Or enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the camp to find out how conservation efforts are being put into practice.

In the evenings, dine under the shade of a large euclea tree as you admire the valley views – no need to pinch yourself, Kenya really is that breathtaking.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end, and today marks the last day of your romantic Kenyan safari (at least you’ve plenty of wedding presents to look forward to at home). After saying your farewells to the camp, your guide will transfer you to the airstrip for your flight to Wilson Airport. From there, head to Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch your nine-and-a-half-hour overnight flight home, arriving back in London the next morning.
