Route

Everything is 100% tailored to you
DAY 1

JOURNEY TO MEXICO

Your romantic getaway to Mexico starts today. Head to the airport to meet a member of our team who will guide you swiftly through check-in and security. Relax in the airport lounge with some nibbles and perhaps a glass of bubbly before boarding your direct flight to Mexico. Flight time is around 11 hours, giving you plenty of time to enjoy a movie or two before touchdown. You’ll once again be greeted at the airport by a member of our team to guide you through immigration before settling in for a private transfer to Bahia Soliman, a small coastal village just north of Tulum. Your home for the next two nights is a luxurious beachside hotel. Settle in this evening and enjoy your first taste of Mexican food alongside a fresh margarita at the hotel’s restaurant.

DAY 2

COASTAL LEISURE

Today is yours to spend at leisure. You can while away hours enjoying your serene new setting of white-sand beaches and turquoise Caribbean waters, or head out to explore your surroundings. Bohemian-chic Tulum, with its endless swanky restaurants and beach clubs, is just a 30-minute drive away, as are its nearby cenotes and beautiful ruins. You are also just an hour away from the Sian Ka'an Nature Reserve, where you can enjoy a moment of utter peace and serenity sailing through mangroves with your special someone. For something a bit different, our team of experts can organise everything from cave diving in cenotes and snorkelling in lagoons to a private visit to the ancient Muyil site.

DAY 3

VISIT AN ANCIENT MAYAN CITY

After one last relaxing morning in Bahia Soliman, pick up your rental car and head one hour inland to Cobá, an ancient Mayan city. Settle in for one night in a beautiful hotel close to the archaeological ruins and a lagoon. After dropping off your bags and freshening up, meet your local guide and set off for a private tour of Cobá. Unlike other Mayan cities in the region, the archeological remains here are scattered over a fairly large area. You’ll start the tour on foot before hopping onto a bike to explore the city’s more distant buildings, including Nohoch Mul, the second-highest pyramid in Yucatan that you can climb to admire the view of the jungle, and the Coba ruins which include around 20 restored stelae which are believed to depict royal women from Tikal.

DAY 4

INTO THE JUNGLE

Before heading off to your next destination, we recommend taking the morning to visit the nearby Mayan community of Punta Laguna. The indigenous peoples here have developed an educational ecotourism that aims to protect and preserve the jungle’s precious flora and fauna. Enjoy a few hours discovering impressive lagoons and cenotes (fresh-water sinkholes) surrounded by lush emerald jungle with extraordinary biodiversity. This afternoon, jump back into your hire care and travel just over three hours to the beautiful village of Chocholá. You’ll be spending the next two nights in a luxurious resort tucked away in the jungle. Spend the rest of today settling into your new home before enjoying a delicious meal at the hotel’s gourmet restaurant.

DAY 5

VISIT UXMAL

Enjoy a relaxing morning at the resort this morning before heading off for a private tour of Uxmal. Classified as a World Heritage site by UNESCO, this ancient city is one of the best-restored Mayan sites. Soaring high out of the jungle canopy, the city’s architecture is typical of the Puuc style, characterised by simple facades on the lower level and more detailed designs on the upper sections. The main buildings of the site are the magician's house and the house of the birds, the convent, the ball court, the great pyramid, the house of the turtles and, finally, the magnificent and superbly-preserved governor's palace.

DAY 6

ROMANCE IN THE CITY

Today you’ll be swapping the jungle for the charming colonial city of Merida, less than an hour’s drive away. Settle in for the night in an intimate boutique hotel nestled in the heart of the historic centre. Today is yours to spend as you wish. You can get lost in the beautiful streets of the city or use your hire car to explore your surroundings. Within an hour’s drive you have the Celestun bird sanctuary, the yellow colonial town of Izamal and the hammock-weaving town of Tixkokob. Then, tonight you have a reservation at one of the best restaurants in town, where you can enjoy a romantic evening reminiscing on your holiday so far over delicious Mexican food and classic cocktails.

DAYS 7 & 8

RELAX ON THE MAYAN RIVIERA

Set off this morning for your final destination in Mexico: a beautifully designed hotel nestled between the jungle and Maroma beach, a four-and-a-half-hour drive away. Spend your last two days in Mexico relaxing in paradise. Sunbathe on plush beachside cabanas, swim in the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, enjoy meditation and yoga sessions and tuck into delicious local gastronomy at the hotel’s restaurant.

DAYS 9 & 10

ADIOS MEXICO

Sadly, your romantic getaway to Mexico had to end at some point. After one last morning spent soaking in the views across the Caribbean, hop into your car and drive to Cancun airport, less than an hour away. Drop off your hire car, whizz through security and relax in the airport lounge until you board your flight home. Flight time is around ten hours, so you’ll arrive back in the UK tomorrow.

A la carte

CAVE DIVING AND SNORKELLING IN TULUM’S CENOTES

The cenotes of the Yucatan peninsula are a unique natural wonder: natural sinkholes filled with crystal-clear turquoise waters. This trip begins with an introduction to cave diving in one of the best-preserved cenotes in the region. Then head to a natural lagoon on the coast for a second snorkelling experience to admire the region’s rich marine life, which include turtles, corals, rays and tropical fish.

VISIT THE MAYAN CITY OF MUYIL AND THE SIAN KA'AN RESERVE

Dedicated to the lunar goddess Ixel, the Mayan city of Muyil once played a major role in the Yucatán península, with jade, obsidian, chocolate and gum all traded here. Enjoy a private tour of the site before embarking on a boat trip on the lagoon and through the canals of Muyil. Visit a Mayan temple nestled in the heart of the reserve that is rarely visited by tourists then hop into the water and float through the translucent waters of an ancient Mayan canal riding a gentle natural current that flows through the mangrove.
