What you can find in Coastal Cambodia that you won't find anywhere else?
The coast of Cambodia already had uninhabited islands, white sandy beaches, clear blue waters and a national park, but now there are some excellent luxury hotels too. The mainland has a couple of places of interest including Kep, which was once a chic colonial beach resort full of luxurious villas until its abandonment during the Khmer Rouge era. Then there's Sihanoukville, on a small peninsula on the Gulf of Thailand, and surrounded by several palm tree-lined beaches. Slightly inland on the edge of the Tatai River, there's a fabulous floating lodge which has taken inspiration from many African tented camps in its style.
However, with the recent arrival of a clutch of seriously luxurious hotels on the island's off Coastal Cambodia, the action is very much offshore. After exploring Cambodia's cultural treasures, make your way to one of these island idylls for the full pampering experience; indulgent spa treatments, superb cuisine, sublime service et al. If you are on the mainland, several other uninhabited islands are accessible by traditional wooden motorboats for day trips where you can snorkel above beautiful marine life and pristine coral or relax on secluded beaches. Several good dive sites can also be found along the coast.
