Who are the Cardomom Mountains best for?

For nature and wildlife lovers, the Cardamom Mountains are a seriously cool spot for a green getaway. As one of the largest and still mostly unexplored forests in Southeast Asia, the mountains are a treasure trove of unique species of flora and fauna, many still undocumented by science. While trekking through the wilds, keep your eyes peeled for all manner of mammals - including rare species such as the clouded leopard, Malayan sun bear and Indochinese tiger - as well as some 450 bird species.

While tourism is still relatively new to the Cardamom Mountains, we work with a handful of tented camps that offer a little slice of paradise in the wilderness. After a day trekking with knowledgeable local guides, return to camp for a delicious evening meal and nightcap watching the setting sun before cosying up in your tent to fall asleep to the sounds of rustling trees and far-off animal calls.
