From days spent traversing magnificent mountains against the backdrop of the vast Lake Baikal, to evenings spent enjoying beautiful ballet in St Petersberg, Russia is a wonderfully diverse and epically proportioned place. Travellers with a thirst for culture will get their fill in the nation’s capital, Moscow. Once you’ve ticked off the stars of the show from your must-see list - such as the Kremlin and St Basil’s Cathedral, both world-famous and hugely symbolic to the country - delve deep into its legendary museums, art galleries, concert halls and architectural monuments. Your Russian summer holidays can take on a more daring dimension with a trip to the Kamchatka Peninsula, a remote, colossal wilderness that plays host to the largest active volcano in the northern hemisphere along with a whole host of bears. Climb aboard the Trans-Siberian Railway and gaze at the steppes of Siberia and hidden, historic towns and head to the beautiful beaches and lively boardwalks of Sochi, a seaside resort on the Black Sea coast, to uncover a vibrant, joyful side to Russia.

"We had a fabulous time: all the planning and detail were worth it. I know I am a travel nerd but it (usually) pays off. This time it did. Thank you again for bearing with me. The guide in St Petersburg was especially good. "

"We had a very nice time in Moscow. Our guide was really excellent. She was very knowledgeable. Her English was very good. She did a good job of explaining everything, including keeping an eye to making things interesting for my boys. I would highly recommend her to anyone. The excursions were also very good. The drivers and vehicles were also very nice"
