Ethiopia Itineraries

A goat herder was the first to discover coffee in Ethiopia, when he noticed that his goats were ambling twitchily having eaten the coffee plants. While ahead of the game in this arena, Ethiopia stands a little back in other ways; as the only country with 13 months, it is eight years behind the Western calendar. If anything, this only makes the country more intriguing, from its rich cultural north, to the lesser explored Bale Mountains of the south.

Other than the Small Group Tours, the itineraries below are designed to give you a taste of what is possible, but are by no means set in stone. All holidays created by Original Travel are completely bespoke, designed by our team of specialists who use their personal travel experience to create the perfect tailor-made itinerary for you.

We very much believe that 'life is in the detail', and so whether it's trekking to find the most inaccessible church in all of Africa, the Damo Monastery, or meeting women of the Mursi tribe with their giant lip plates, then speak to our specialists to create your bespoke itinerary.
