A Harmonious Honeymoon in Kenya & the Seychelles

DAYS 1 & 2 FLY TO NAIROBI

It’s time for the honeymoon excitement to commence. In the evening, head to the airport and enjoy a romantic tipple in the lounge before boarding your first flight. You’ll be flying to Nairobi via one of the Gulf state hubs, and the combined overnight flights will take around 13 hours.

You'll touch down in Nairobi in the early afternoon, before being privately transferred to Nairobi's domestic airport for your one-hour flight to the Maasai Mara. On arrival, your friendly guide will pick you up for the final 30-minute leg of your journey (aaaaand relax...)

Once you’ve arrived at your super-romatic safari camp, drop your bags and head out on an afternoon game drive, where you’ll have the chance to spot some of the Mara's Big Five under the expert supervision of a local guide. Come evening, enjoy a mouth-watering supper under the stars before collapsing into bed, ready for the real honeymoon-ing to begin tomorrow.

DAYS 3 & 4 SAFARI & SUNSETS IN THE MAASAI MARA

Rise and shine: your honeymoon proper begins today. You'll be woken early in the morning for the first of the day's guided game drives, where you’ll (hopefully) be treated to sights of buffaloes, elephants, hyenas and giraffes, as well as prides of lions, cheetahs and leopards. Once you’re suitably wowed, return to camp for a hearty breakfast and a steaming cup of coffee overlooking the plains.

In the afternoon, you'll be invited out on another game drive, taking a different route this time. If you're lucky enough to be visiting during the Maasai’s great wildebeest migration, your guide will drive you to significant river crossings; if not, they’ll take you to other hotspots, such as waterholes. Your all-important sundowner drink will be served en route, so you can toast the day's discoveries as you take in the magnificent sunset.

Back at the camp, the chefs will have prepared a wonderful candle-lit dinner for you. If you're not too sleepy, gather around the campfire afterwards for a leisurely nightcap.

DAY 5 WALK ON THE WILD SIDE

With your wildlife antennae now finely tuned, you might be able to spot some of the Mara’s more elusive animals on this morning's game drive. The camp hosts can provide a delicious bush breakfast picnic for you to enjoy while you're out and about, granting you more time with the animals as well as creating another love-laced memory.

After lunch, we recommend joining one of the camp's popular walking safaris to get that little bit closer to the area’s amazing wildlife. Set out with an experienced walking guide and a local Maasai warrior and learn all about the plants, animal tracks and smaller creatures you encounter, such as comical warthogs or shy impalas.

Back at camp, it's sadly time to pack up and fly back to Nairobi, where you’ll be spending a night in the airport hotel before the Seychelles section of your honeymoon begins tomorrow.

DAYS 6 & 7 MAKE FOR MAHE

Today, say goodbye to the bush and hello to the beach as you hop on a three-hour flight to Mahe, the largest island in the Seychelles. On arrival, you'll be driven to your beachfront hotel, complete with secluded sandy stretches and swaying palms, where you’ll be staying for the next two nights.

Your time in Mahe is yours for the taking. Embark on a boat trip to superb snorkelling spots, each home to a dazzling array of fish, turtles and rays; set off on a fishing trip to catch tuna and marlin; or lace up your walking boots and hike into the island's glorious interior with a local guide.

If you and your other half are culture connoisseurs, browse the market in Victoria or tour Mahe's tea factory for a taste of the local brew. You’ll also have plenty of time to relax at the pool or stroll hand-in-hand along the beach before moving onto your next destination.

Days 8 TO 11 ISLAND LIFE IN PRASLIN

This morning, you'll be collected from your hotel and transferred to the pier for the short one-hour ferry ride to the island of Praslin. The second-largest island in the Seychelles, Praslin boasts pristine beaches, sparkling waters and the smallest UNESCO World Heritage site in the world, the beautiful Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve.

You’ll be spending the next four nights here so settle in and enjoy the peace and quiet. Discover the island’s myriad beaches, some with great surf conditions, others with calm waters that are ideal for swimming. If your better half is a diver, head out on a snorkelling trip around Praslin’s coast, diving into the sparkling water and spotting colourful reef fish, turtles and manta rays.

Fancy a change of scene? Head out by boat to the island of La Digue to spend the day cycling across its lush jungle interior. Back at your resort, simply stretch out beside the pool with a tropical cocktail (and congratulate yourselves on choosing the perfect honeymoon).

DAYS 12 & 13 HOME TIME

Sadly, the time has come to head back home. Enjoy a leisurely morning and a long lazy lunch before catching the one-hour ferry back to Mahe.

From Mahe, you'll board your evening flight back home, once again going via the Gulf. The total flight time will be around 13 to 14 hours. You'll touch down in the UK at about midday the next day, with golden tans and lots of lovely memories to see you into married life.
