Combine three of the Seychelles’ most beautiful islands as you explore Mahe, La Digue and Praslin on this 12-day escape.

Stay in secluded retreats nestled between tropical gardens and the Indian Ocean, and experience a virtually untouched natural world. Think paradisiacal beaches, rainforests, deserted coves, lagoons, coral reefs and exceptional flora and fauna, from century-old tortoises to rare bird colonies.

Your journey begins in Mahe with a three-night stay in an exclusive oceanside location, boasting breathtaking views of turquoise waters and white sandy beaches. Over the next few days, enjoy a Creole lunch on a magnificent private estate, soak up the atmosphere of the island’s capital Victoria, snooze on postcard-perfect beaches or hit the hiking trails in Morne Seychelloise National Park.

Next up, take a quick flight to Praslin, followed by a ferry to the tiny island of La Digue for a two-night stay. This tranquil paradise is home to giant tortoises, rare birds, coral reefs and superb snorkelling spots. You’ll then hop back to Praslin, the Seychelles’ second-largest island, to wind up your trip. The next four days are all yours to enjoy, whether dozing in a hammock under rippling palms or exploring the Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Your adventure in the Seychelles starts today, so head to the airport and speed through security for an overnight flight to Mahe - direct flights from the UK take around ten hours. On landing the following morning, you’ll be privately transferred to your hotel in an exclusive location nestled between tropical gardens and the Indian Ocean.

As you settle in for your three-night stay, unwind and admire the breathtaking views of turquoise waters. Your hire car will be dropped off at the hotel today, so you’re all set for exploring tomorrow. This evening, dive into an alfresco dinner overlooking the lapping waves.

Lunch today is served in the grounds of a magnificent 65-hectare private estate, in the tranquil setting of gently swaying palm trees, coconut groves and tropical flora and fauna. When you’ve finished tucking in, enjoy a whizz around the grounds in a golf cart, stopping to explore a pretty cove and spot trudging tortoises.

Afterwards, stroll around nearby Victoria – the world’s smallest capital city – to admire the city’s charming colonial houses. Or perhaps you’d rather chill on a postcard-perfect beach: the most popular are Beau Vallon, Anse Soleil, Anse la Mouche and Anse Intendance, each edged with huge granite boulders, lush green hills and emerald takamaka trees. If you’re feeling energetic, the island’s Morne Seychelloise National Park has lots of hiking trails to discover, too.

Ready for more exploring this morning? Head to Victoria, the island’s capital, to wander around the Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke Market, soaking up the atmosphere as you browse stalls laden with local fresh produce and aromatic spices. Stroll around the botanical gardens, take snaps of the Clock Tower (a miniature replica of Big Ben) or visit the Victoria National Museum of History, which recounts the island's turbulent history.

For spectacular views, take a drive along the winding roads to reach the Mission Lodge viewpoint, where you can see a tropical rainforest vista crisscrossed with hiking trails (tip: go in the morning before it becomes too misty). If you enjoy walking, hike to Copolia Plateau for panoramic views of lush hills, the deep-blue ocean and neighbouring islands. Starting at the Morne Seychellois National Park, the trail winds its way through tropical forests to a viewpoint that’s 1,640ft above sea level.

Today’s destination is the tiny island of La Digue, for a two-night stay on a private estate nestled on a hillside. You’ll be privately transferred to the airport for a 20-minute flight to Praslin Island, and on landing, whisked to a 15-minute ferry crossing (there isn’t an airport on La Digue).

The next two days are yours to explore this tranquil island – think dazzling-white powdery beaches, coconut trees gently swaying in the warm breeze and Champagne aperitifs at sunset. Spend the rest of today getting your bearings and settling into the island’s easy rhythm.

Today, you’re free to uncover La Digue’s many delights. For creature spotting, visit L'Union Estate Park to see giant tortoises, the Veuve Reserve bird sanctuary for rare species and take a glass-bottomed kayak trip to gaze at vibrant coral reefs.

Hop on a boat trip to Coco Island, surrounded by crystal-clear waters and excellent snorkelling spots, or hike to Nid d'Aigle (Eagle’s Nest), the highest peak on the island, for impressive views.

It’s all aboard the ferry today to Praslin, the Seychelles’ second-largest island, for a four-night stay. This morning, you’ll be privately transferred to the island port for the short 20-minute crossing. On arrival at the other side, pick up a hire car and drive to your charming hotel, overlooking the Cote-d'Or Bay and Anse Gouvernement’s stretches of beautiful white sand. All that’s left on today’s agenda? Rest and relaxation...

Over the next four days, unwind and enjoy this island paradise, replete with coconut-palm fringed beaches and enticing turquoise waters. Between lounging on the beach and dips in the water, a must-see is the Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site with a plethora of walking trails that weave through this ancient palm forest. Spot native flora and fauna, including the coco de mer (coconut of the sea) palm that produces the world’s largest nut, rare black parrots and small, shiny lizards called Seychelles skinks.

On the last night of your holiday, be sure to toast your trip with a tropical sundowner in hand.

Sadly, it’s your last morning in Praslin. After tucking into breakfast and saying your goodbyes (and maybe having one last gaze at the heavenly ocean), you’ll be privately transferred to the airport. Drop off your hire car and catch a 20-minute flight to Mahe, before hopping on your connecting overnight flight to the UK, arriving back on home turf the next day feeling rested and rejuvenated.

Suggestions

Everything in this itinerary is entirely customisable, down to the smallest details. Here are some more suggestions of what could be included

KAYAK THROUGH MAHE’S MANGROVES

Explore Mahe’s mangroves on a kayaking trip with a private guide. Only the occasional sound of herons and white-tailed tropicbirds breaks the silence as you wind your way along the river to a hidden cove in this wild, rarely accessible corner of the island.

HIKE ALONG LA DIGUE’S SOUTH-EAST COAST

Experience breathtaking scenery by hiking along La Digue’s south-east coast with a private guide. Starting at the dazzling white sands of Anse Source d'Argent, rated as one of the top ten beaches in the world, you’ll hike to Grand Anse, another pristine beach further along the coast, past huge granite boulders, lush landscapes, crystal-clear coves and secret beaches. Stop along the way to take photos, snorkel in the ocean, pick fruit, tuck into a picnic lunch and have a doze under the coconut palms.

BOAT TRIP TO CURIEUSE ISLAND

Take a boat trip from Praslin to the unspoilt wilderness of Curieuse Island. Giant Aldabra tortoises roam free here and if you hike to Laraie Bay, there are idyllic spots for snorkelling. Curieuse is a former quarantine station for lepers and has a small museum visitor centre where you can learn about the island’s wildlife and history. We’ll arrange a tasty barbecue lunch for you, served on the beach, of course.
