Armed with SPF and buckets of curiosity, chart a captivating course from the burnt-orange beauty of the NambiRand and Sossusvlei to the otherworldly awe of the Skeleton Coast and Twyfelfontein.

Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for the endemic and near-endemic wildlife that calls these picturesque plains home. We’re talking desert-adapted rhinos, Damara ground squirrels and dune larks, along with the classic safari big hitters such as lions, elephants and leopards. Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Passports at the ready – your Namibia holiday kicks off today. Head to the airport, breeze through security and settle into the lounge for some complimentary nibbles before departure. Flights to Windhoek take just over 13 hours and connect through South Africa, giving you more than enough time to shift into holiday gear.

When you land, grab your bags and meet your private driver for the transfer into the city centre, where you’ll spend the first night of your trip. After some unpacking and post-journey stretching, venture out in search of lunch.

Refuelled and raring to go, it’s time to explore the streets of Windhoek. The capital of Namibia, this pretty city is dotted with German architecture and boasts a strong European café culture – evidence of its colonial past. Perch with a cuppa this afternoon before heading to a Concierge-approved restaurant for dinner tonight. Eisbein (pork knuckle), anyone?

You’ve heard of the early bird catches the worm; well, today, the early bird catches the flight. Rise bright and early this morning for the one-hour-and-30-minute sunrise flight to the NamibRand Nature Reserve, one of the largest private reserves in southern Africa. This is where the adventure truly begins...

When you land, you’ll be welcomed and whisked to your lodge, where you’ll check in for the next two nights. Having unpacked, settled in and freshened up, step out for a celebratory cocktail on the deck to whet your appetite for exploring this wild and wonderful wilderness.

Today is all about exploring the NamibRand. This morning, tuck into a hearty breakfast before donning hats and sunnies for your wilderness wanderings.

If you fancy working up a sweat, hop on an electric fat bike (yes, really) and pedal along a series of clearly marked trails. Prefer something a little more laidback? Climb in a 4x4 for a morning or afternoon nature drive. For a total immersion in nature, swap wheels for legs during a day of horse riding. Whatever you choose, just be sure to bring your camera – the scenery here is something else.

Then, after dinner tonight, treat yourselves to a drink on the deck while you observe the Namibian night sky, which – in our humble opinion – is among the best in the world.

Enjoy a slow start and a leisurely breakfast this morning before grabbing your bags and hopping on a 30-minute flight to Sesriem. Eyes on the windows – the views are sure to be jaw-dropping.

When you land, head to your next lodge, check in for another two-night stay and... relax. The rest of the day is yours to spend as you please, whether that means lacing up your trainers and heading out on a mid-afternoon stroll through the plains or kicking back with a good book in a shady corner.

Tonight, cosy up with another delicious dinner (bring on the mouth-watering meats) before sinking into bed to rest up for the adventures of tomorrow.

Another day, another early start. Rise before the sun this morning and head out for a hike through the Sossusvlei Dunes. Always awe-inducing, these picturesque peaks are even more spectacular when they’re bathed in the golden glow of dawn.

Among the big hitters here is Deadvlei, where you’ll find the gigantic orange dunes and petrified (fossilised) trees that Namibia is known for. Budding photographers, this one’s for you.

Also vying for the spotlight are Big Mama and Dune 45, two of the biggest dunes in Sossusvlei. Need a little incentive for the back-to-back climbs? You’ll be rewarded with mesmerising panoramas over the sun-soaked desert.

Eke even more enjoyment out of your time in Sossusvlei with a tour of the Sesriem Canyon this morning. Set off early to explore this famous 100ft-wide gorge and walk among a landscape that dates back 15 million years – now that’s a feat of endurance.

Once you’ve been suitably wowed, you’ll be privately transferred to the airstrip for the two-hour flight north to Twyfelfontein, where you’ll set up shop for the next two nights. A UNESCO-listed legend, Twyfelfontein is one of the most important archaeological sites in southern Africa, home to a series of 10,000-year-old paintings created by the locals of yesteryear.

Once you’ve arrived and freshened up, make your way to the dining room for a delicious dinner, then while away a few hours in the boma with a drink in hand.

The name of the game today: soaking up the splendour of Twyfelfontein. While breakfasting against a mountain backdrop, take your pick of a multitude of ways to explore your surroundings.

If you fancy some close-up encounters with Namibia’s brilliant birdlife, head out with an expert guide in search of desert-adapted birds. There are a host of endemic and near-endemic species to keep an eye (or a set of binoculars) out for, including the dune lark and Ruppell’s korhaan.

Another option is to set off on more game drives, looking out for everything from safari icons, like elephants and lions, to more distinctive desert-dwellers, like desert-adapted black rhinos and Damara ground squirrels (they’re more interesting than regular squirrels, we promise).

Of course, there’s also the surrounding landscape, which features the solidified lava flow known as Burnt Mountain, as well as the Organ Pipe – a 320ft-long basalt wall. A little further out, you’ll find the iconic Petrified Forest, a site which more than lives up to its name.

Enjoy one last breakfast among the scenic splendour of Twyfelfontein this morning before heading to the airstrip for your one-hour flight to the Skeleton Coast. Thankfully, this sparkling coastline is blissfully free of any real skeletons – the name actually originates from shipwrecks scattered along the shore.

When you land, check in for three nights in a lovely camp near Skeleton Coast National Park. It’s here that you’ll spend the next few days, exploring as much as possible of this 130-mile-long stretch of remote richness.

Between bucket-list worthy boat trips and captivating crocodile sightings, don’t forget to soak up the sun and explore some of the gemstone beaches – they're literally littered with semi-precious stones.

After breakfast, bid a fond farewell to the wilds of the Skeleton Coast and trade the seas for the sky on a two-hour flight to Etosha National Park. Let the big game experience commence...

When you land, you’ll be picked up from the airstrip and driven to your final camp of the trip – a delightful destination tucked away in the heart of Etosha. Unpack, unwind and uncover the beauty of this natural landscape with the first of many ventures into the park this afternoon.

Later, return to camp for dinner under the stars, followed by a passionate discussion about which wildlife you’d like to see tomorrow. The park is home to four of the Big Five, so dream – well – big.

Dial up the adrenaline today with morning and afternoon game drives. This is your chance to spot (deep breath) lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, springbok, two species of zebra and oryx antelopes – the national symbol of Namibia.

When you’re not playing I-Spy with Etosha’s exceptional animals, wind down with a leisurely lunch at camp and pause to devour more of your holiday read (bonus points if it’s safari-centric).

Then, when you return from another game drive this afternoon, head to the boma to reminisce on the highlights of your day around a roaring fire. It doesn’t come much better than this.

Like all great expeditions, your ultimate Namibian adventure comes to an end today. Tuck into one last bountiful breakfast overlooking the plains this morning before catching a one-and-a-half-hour internal flight to Windhoek.

From here, you’ll fly on to Cape Town and then to the UK. You’ll spend a total of 14 hours in the air and arrive home the following morning, giving you plenty of time to sit back, slip on an eye mask and drift off to dreams of your next arid adventure.
