Passports at the ready – your exclusive Namibia fly-in safari begins today. Head to the airport, breeze through security and saunter off to the lounge for some complimentary fizz before takeoff. Flights to the capital, Windhoek, connect through Johannesburg and take around 14 hours – time to slip those eye masks on.
Land the following morning and step out into the heat to meet your private driver, who will whisk you away to your centrally located hotel. Then, check in for one night, drop your bags, divvy up the sides of the bed and freshen up.
The rest of the day is yours to spend scoping out your suave new digs. If you’re raring to go, venture out to explore the pretty city of Windhoek, home to a wealth of German architecture. But if you’re tired from your travels, simply kick back and enjoy the facilities at your hotel in the lead up to dinner.
After breakfast this morning, grab your bags and head to the airport to catch the 50-minute flight to Sesriem, gateway to the Namib Desert and the Sossusvlei dunes. Make sure to have a camera to hand while you’re in the air – the views from above are simply spectacular.
After landing, head to your first safari lodge of the trip to settle in and freshen up. Then, stretch your legs on a stroll along the nearby Tsauchab River Trail to work up an appetite for dinner tonight.
Leap out of bed this morning to tuck into a delicious breakfast and make the most of your first full day on safari. Don your khakis and head out to spot desert-adapted black rhino and desert-adapted elephants.
Later on, be sure to visit the Sossusvlei dunes, Sesriem Canyon and Dead Vlei, a beautiful white basin full of petrified trees. Snap some shots for your photo wall here before heading back to the lodge this evening.
After a full day of exploring, tuck into a well-earned supper and some top-tier drinks before sinking into a plush stack of pillows tonight. Another incredible adventure awaits tomorrow.
Part with Namibia’s glorious game (for now) by hopping on a 40-minute flight towards the area just north of Swakopmund this morning. It’s time to delve into the storied Skeleton Coast.
The next three days are dedicated to flying up this iconic strip of land. Each fly-in safari route is bespoke, but the focal points often include the Eduard Bohlen shipwreck, Terrace Bay and Skeleton Coast National Park.
Along the way, you may also fly over the colony of seals at Cape Cross and the lunar-like landscapes of the Ugab River valley. Seeing these striking rock folds from above is (excuse us) next level.
Your first night along the coast will be spent in the Huab River Valley, where you can venture out to see ancient rock art. Then, you’ll stay near the Hoarusib River before journeying further north to Hartmann Valley in the Kunene Region, where you’ll seamlessly transition into the next leg of your exclusive fly-in safari.
Wake up bright and early this morning to pack your bags and head to your next camp with a speedy flight. Eyes on the windows as you soar over Hartmann Valley and the Kunene River.
Having landed, check into another luxurious lodge for two nights. Then, once you’ve dropped your bags and settled in, it’s time to reacquaint yourselves with Namibia’s wonderful wildlife.
Over the next few days, be on the lookout for local legends. We’re talking about (deep breath) tenebrionid beetles, lesser masked weavers, chameleons, lizards, snakes, gemsboks, springboks, crocodiles and Goliath herons – true to their name, they can reach heights of five feet.
After cosplaying nature documentarians all morning, in the afternoons, slink back to your lodge to enjoy some well-earned downtime. With nothing else around for miles, this is your chance to reconnect with nature at its best (and sip some sundowners, of course).
Luxuriate in one last leisurely breakfast overlooking the lunar-like landscapes of Kunene this morning before checking out and hopping on a two-and-a-half-hour flight to the Khomas Region.
Spend your final night in Namibia nestled atop a high-altitude savannah a couple of miles outside Windhoek. Here, you’ll be in the midst of kudu, giraffes, impala and blue wildebeest (who are, sadly, more brown than blue). There are also birds aplenty here, the showstoppers being the rockrunner and Ruppell’s parrot.
When you’re not ticking more animal sightings off your bucket lists, you can lounge by the pool, fawn over your camera roll, slip away to the bar and settle down for a delightful dinner this evening. It’s the last one of the trip, so you may as well go all out.
Sadly, your exclusive Namibia fly-in safari comes to an end today. Enjoy a final breakfast overlooking the plains this morning before checking out and privately transferring back to Windhoek Airport in time for your flight home.
The journey back connects through Johannesburg again and takes around 14-and-a-half hours, so you’ll arrive in the UK the following morning. In the meantime, there’s nothing left to do but kick back, relax and start dreaming up your next adventure.
