Further north you'll find one of our absolute favourite places - the wild province of Yukon which borders Alaska and is as original as they come; then you might want to head east towards Churchill in Manitoba where you can kayak, paddleboard and , chase the Northern Lights and spot polar bears (yes, even in summer!).

If you're after city living on your summer holiday to Canada, the line up of Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City in Eastern Canada is hard to beat. These often-overlooked but excellent cities pair perfectly with some time spent in the great outdoors, especially in the remote Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island or on the petite maritime island province of Nova Scotia which are full to the brim with quaint towns and villages and incredible natural beauty.
