Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Head to the airport to catch your direct flight to Toronto, which will see you touching down in Canada in just under eight hours.

Upon arrival, a private transfer will take you into the city centre and onto your base for the next two nights. You’re ideally located for exploring Toronto’s vibrant city life for the rest of today, with its trendy restaurants, cosy cafés and independent bookstores all on your doorstep.

Sitting on the shores of Lake Ontario, Canada’s largest city boasts an exceptional concentration of skyscrapers (and an iconic skyline to match), as well as the most significant examples of Victorian architecture in North America. The city’s cosmopolitanism is one of its main charms, proclaimed in its motto ‘Diversity Our Strength’,. In fact, nothing characterises Queen City better than its culutral diversity. Experience Toronto’s character for yourself today, as you wander its vibrant neighbourhoods, tuck into tasty food at St. Lawrence Market and check out its many fascinating museums (we like the Royal Ontario Museum).

This evening, experience Toronto’s character for yourself as you explore Toronto’s Islands – a chain of 15 small, interconnected islands that encircle the city’s waterfront – by bike.??At sunset, board the ferry heading for the archipelago. After enjoying a panoramic view of the city from the ferry, pedal through parks and along beaches, taking in the peaceful landscapes along the way. Cottages give way to the Royal Canadian Yacht Club and then the historic Gibraltar Point Lighthouse, as the last rays of sunlight fade over the lake.

It’s time to pick up your rental car this morning andet out on the 90-minute drive to the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, whose name readily reveals its location.

As well as exploring the charming old town here, a must-see just a half-hour drive away is, of course, Niagara Falls. A bucket list-worthy natural wonder that attracts millions of visitors each year, the falls dramatically transform the river that connects Lake Erie to Lake Ontario. Goat Island, on the US side, divides the waters to form three waterfalls, the most impressive of which is the Ontario Horseshoe Falls. For unforgettable panoramic views, we recommend climbing to the top of the Skylon Tower.

Today, wave goodbye to Niagara and drive to the beautiful Bruce Peninsula (around a four-hour journey), which stretches between Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. On arrival, check into your hotel in the harbour village of Tobermory – your base for the next two nights. Peruse the local shops and galleries before finding a bite to eat later this evening.

Head out to explore Bruce Peninsula National Park today. Located on the ancestral lands of the Saugeen Ojibwe Nation, this scenic park sits where the towering cliffs of the Niagara Escarpment plunge into the crystalline waters of Georgian Bay. There are spectacular hiking trails to follow through the rugged landscape – we can help with recommendations depending on your energy levels – home to orchids, ferns and black bears. Parking can be challenging upon arrival, so we can reserve your spot in advance (you’re welcome).

Later today, you also have the option to take a cruise in Tobermory Bay, where you can marvel at shipwrecks and rock formations while gliding through pristine waters.

Moving on again today, make the three-hour drive towards Huntsville, the gateway to Algonquin Provincial Park, skirting Georgian Bay. Check into your hotel and put your feet up after the journey, before getting your bearings in the charming town Tomorrow, you’ll explore the pretty park’s calm waters by canoe, kayak, or with a swim. There’s also plenty to keep fishing enthusiasts happy here...

Algonquin Provincial Park was established by Ontario authorities in the late 19th century to mitigate the effects of logging and agricultural development. Since then, a balance has been struck between economic activity and conservation needs. Today, hiking or cycling is the best way to explore the captivating landscapes of forests, rivers and lakes.

For a different perspective, you can also take to the waters in a kayak or canoe. If you’re hoping to see some Canadian wildlife, you have the chance to spot moose, beavers, black bears and white-tailed deer here (have your cameras at the ready).

Another day, another destination. Today, make the drive to the historic hamlet of Milford in Prince Edward County – a journey of around four hours. Check in for two nights at your hotel, nestled between farmland and forest trails. Stretch your legs with a leisurely stroll around nearby Mill Pond, before settling in for the night.

Today, head out on a sailing trip on Lake Ontario. As the wind fills the sail and the boat gradually moves away from the shore, you’ll quickly forget that you're not in the open sea. Enjoy spectacular vistas of the surrounding coastline as you glide across the serene lake waters.

In your itinerary today, we’ve also included admission to Sandbanks Provincial Park. Renowned for its stunning coastal scenery, the park boasts several natural sandy beaches, including Outlet Beach – the most popular – which opens onto Lake Ontario with over a mile of golden sands. Dunes Beach, sheltered by its sand dunes, and the secluded Lakeshore Beach are also well worth a visit.

Wave goodbye to Milford and head east, following the curve of the St. Lawrence River, before turning off to reach Ottawa, the Canadian capital (the journey time is around three hours).

Check into your centrally located hotel where you’ll spend the final two nights of your trip. If you fancy exploring, ask your Concierge for things to do and see nearby.

It’s your final full day in Canada, so rise and shine early to make the most of the day.

Ready to explore the city? There’s plenty to keep you busy. Stroll along the UNESCO-listed Rideau Canal and its locks; get lost among the manystalls of ByWard Market; visit sprawling Gatineau Park for a nature fix; explore the city’s many museums, such as the Canadian Museum of History or the National Gallery of Canada.

While you’re in Ottawa, it’s also worth popping across the Ottawa River, which borders the city, to enter French-speaking Quebec (Ottawa is a bilingual city, after all). To delve deeper into the city’s culture and history, you even have the option to take a private tour today.

Sadly, your Canadian adventure draws to a close today, so head to the airport, return your trusty rental car and board your overnight flight home.

You’ll be in the air for around eight hours, arriving back in the UK the next day.
