Laos Passport & Visa Requirements

Laos Visa Requirements

An eVisa is required for entry into Laos. If you are a British citizen, you can apply for an e-visa online at https://laoevisa.gov.la for US$50, or you can get a visa on arrival for around US$50 or Thai Baht 2,000.00 cash. Please bring two passport photos per person for your visa application. The eVisa permits travellers to remain in Laos for a total of 30 consecutive days. Other nationalities should check with the embassy for further information.

Digital Arrival form: You are also required to complete the Laos Digital Immigration Form (LDIF) within three days before arrival and three days before departure. You can do so online: https://www.immigration.gov.la/. The LDIF applies at Wattay International Airport (Vientiane), Luang Prabang International Airport, Pakse International Airport and Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge I. At these checkpoints, the LDIF replaces paper arrival and departure cards.

Passport Validity for Laos Travel

Your passport should have at least six months remaining from your date of entry into Laos. Additionally, be aware that airlines will now only allow boarding of flights to and from Laos if there are two blank pages in your passport.

For further information, please check with the embassy.
