Having recently returned from a trip island hopping in the Caribbean, Original Travel expert Issy revisited the delightful island of Anguilla. She was no less impressed by the exclusive holiday island the second time round...
Where is Anguilla?
You'd be forgiven for not being able to pinpoint the exact location of Anguilla. A long and wiggly sixteen miles long by three miles wide, it's the most northerly of the British Leeward Islands in the Caribbean.
A laidback gastronomic delight
Thanks to the island being relatively unknown, Anguilla retains considerable sophistication and an authentic charm. It exudes a laid-back atmosphere so strong it's impossible not to unwind here. Anguilla has, without a doubt, some of the best food in the Caribbean. Be it the more refined hotel restaurants or the relaxed beach shacks, the food is incredibly fresh, and tough to beat.

It's not just the food that is of a high calibre in Anguilla either; the hotels maintain high standards too. What to do
Besides feasting on fresh seafood, Anguilla offers typically Caribbean activities; namely beach and water-sports. Fishing, snorkelling, windsurfing, water-skiing, sea kayaking, and diving are all readily available, and private yachts can be chartered for you to explore the island's bays and secluded beaches.
