For some, Anjuna holidays might conjure up the hedonist parties which made this place in northern Goa such a famous hippy haunt in the 1970s. Anjuna beach is still one of the most famous in India. But today this small village on the Arabian Sea, nestled amongst coconut palms and fine sand beaches, with restaurants and bars filling the little thatched huts that line the beach front - is charming and friendly, retaining much of its bohemian soul. So although Anjuna still attracts psychedelic trance lovers to its open-air raves, it is just as appealing for its famous flea market every Wednesday, which erupts in a profusion of colours.
